Question Nitrous newbie needing recommendations on a few things...

I have ordered my first nitrous kit and it should be here sometime this week. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where i could mount the bottle in an 02z28? I would like to keep it hidden so i was thinking the area where the spare tire is located...
Also would it be better to run the lines on the outside of the car or can i run them on the inside?

thank you for any help

Spare tire well seems to be a favorite by many f-body guys, as for running lines, do not run them inside the car any half-awake tech inspector should not allow you to run. Some people do run the lines inside the car However I highly recommend you run them under the car parallel with a fuel or brake line (in split loom). And please don't forget the down-tube!

try this link https://ls1tech.com/forums/nitrous-o...t=mount+bottle

also make sure you swap those tr55s out to the correct heat range before spraying the car. good luck

ok well looks like i got the mounting location set.
only reason i asked about running the lines is because i've read a couple of installs that do and it just seemed awkward to do that. Everything will be covered in loom seeing as how i want to keep it as hidden as possible. My only question was with running it on the outside is the line more suseptable to rust/other weather problems?

The kit had been ordered for now. I will be purchasing the blow down tube, bottle heater, and other accesories with my next paycheck.

Always use a non-projected tip plug. Like br7ef or br8ef etc.. I think they make the 6 in non-proj also. Post up all mods and what hp level you plan on spraying so we can get you the right plug.

Well it would be the mods i have in my sig plus the nitrous dry kit and i only plan on spraying a 75 shot for now. I don't plan on spraying it much, maybe once a week or if I happen to make it out to the local drag strip but even at that I usually only make 2-3 passes

With no cam the br6efs would be fine at 75, if you go above 100 with your current setup then I would switch to br7efs.

Heated Bottle Bracket? http://www.860performance.com/catalo...38&section=119

You would still need a spare tire plate to do that set up still.

tr6 is projected tip, br6ef is non-projected tip but same heat range. there is a good write up about the difference, just search it. it will make alot more sense after seeing the comparison on how far the electrode sticks out compared to the non-pro tip.

I have the heated bottle bracket and it works great!

The fpss is cheap insurance if the fuel pump were to fail. You would just put it off the fuel rail and cap it off. In the event the fuel pump fails it will kill the ground to the relay.

i've read of some people having problems with it shutting it off earlier than what it is set to. how would i make sure this doesn't happen? and this only shuts off the nitrous correct?

Is the guage electric? If not wouldn't you need to run a line to it from the bottle?

The issue would be because they did not have the switch set properly. If its set properly you will not have an issue.
