Default Anyone use the NX stand alone fuel tank?

This one? Anyone have any feedback? Seems like a great way to add a stand alone on a budget.

What power level are you trying to support? What does your set up consist of?

That is a lot cheaper than the one I saw many months ago. Perhaps it has different options.

Well right now my setup consists of a lpe walbro 255 in my tank and I am pulling fuel off the rail for a 150 shot through a brand x nozzle.

Next year I want to go E85, and my fuel system will not support this. The 255 and my 42lb green tops should support my motor just fine, but for fuel for the nitrous I want to get a stand alone.

My plan was to get a plate setup and spray a 200 to 250 shot through it (whatever the plugs will let me and keep good distribution) using E85.
The rest of my setup is a nx 10 lb bottle, nos heater, nx opener, dynotune digital gauge, dynotune lean shut down switch, nitrous outlet window switch, brand x solenoids.

Ok, They offer two different versions for there dedicated fuel system. The cheap one listed in the link is not what I would suggest. It is nothing more than a plastic tank with a low flowing fuel pump laying inside.

They have another model you could use.

Or you can use ours as well.

This is the best way under a budget to get high octane fuel for nitrous enrichment. It will support 300 hp worth of nitrous and works great. Perfect for stock bottom end cars or anyone who just wants more safety over pump gas. Hook this up run the jetting we have set for it and have high octane safety for less than 400$. It is also in the process of being SFI approved. Not bad for a "plastic tank with a low flowing fuel pump laying inside."

Now for guys who want easier tuning via adjustable regulator, boost reference capability, or up to 800hp worth of nitrous enrichment...

Just another plastic tank with a pump laying in it that supports 800hp worth of nitrous with boost referencing and an gauge...

Why couldn't I use the first one you listed with E85?

Unless things have changed your 255 won't last long on e85.
If this is the case you will need a new intank pump anyhow so might not need a stand alone.

Just noticed this in the details for these tanks:

"When used with race gas, the need to retard timing is significantly reduced. Often on V8 engines using nitrous boosts of 150 horsepower and above, zero timing retard is required."

What octane would you have to run to have 0 timing retard on a 150 shot or ABOVE? That does not sound right.

Everything I have seen says the Walbro 255 doesn't work with E85. Some people thought they would and they don't. It ruins them in a very short period of time. Again maybe walbro has updated something but last I was looking at some e85 builds they had to use a differant pump.

why would you pay that much for a stand alone? seems silly.

1 gallon cell + holley blue = 200 bucks...

There are $700 stand alones!
The point of all that money is bolt in and go but it is rediculous for me too!

Depends on if the cell is in front or mounted in back. In front the Holley blue will work. In the back I would get the Holley HP 150gph. It's almost $100 more than a Blue. That's my plan anyway.

There are ways to assemble them cheaper. I agree 100%.

What your looking at is a pre-assembled aeromotive and NX parts ready to bolt in. This will support e85 and Fi applications as well.

We sell holley pumps and regulators so if you would like that built we can handle that as well.

You guys need to look at the full picture before assuming you can build a dedicated for 200.00. Other wise your expenses will add up quickly.

First of all having a dedicated with out a regulator is a waste of time and money so I will not even concider that fact but lets talk a home brew system.

Its been a while since I built a system like this but I can tell you what I use to do. Its fuzzy but I remember cost somewhere around 400-500 for something that is not near as clean and bolt in as our dedicated systems.

Plastic fuel cell-
Holley blue pump and regulator, or aeromotive street rod pump
modify regulator for return- or place bleed jet at solenoid with return hose.
Fuel filter
Hoses
Fittings
Harness and relay

I am sure by the time you build it correctly you are easily around the 400 to 500 range maybe more

Nothing wrong with building a system this way. After all thats what we use to do before eventing the drop in and go dedicated fuel systems.

It does not look as clean though and Time is money.. You have the time of chasing down parts, fabricating etc. VS bolt in and go..

For me my time and the bolt in and go is worth paying alittle more.

I understand somepeople have more time than funds and there is nothing wrong with that either. There has been write ups here on tech where people have listed the parts they used, pricing and how they did it.

Do a search and check it out. May save you some headache.

I built my own and when all is said and done I have atleast 500-600 in it, but SS flex line from the trunk and back isnt cheap.
