Spraying in 5th .. BOOOOM ??? ..
#21
I raced a GSXR1000 up to about 150-160 one day a few years ago. We went from a roll and I sprayed 125 dry shot 3rd - 5th. I had no issues whatsoever and the guy on the bike couldn't believe how I pulled on him.
I also had a 9" rear with 4.11's. The car had full bolt-ons and was cam only at the time.
My best advice is if you're worried about spraying your car then don't do it. A race isn't worth blowing something up if you can't afford it.

That's really great run against GSXR1000 .. and spraying in 5th with 4.11 will take less time than 3.42 .. so the heat built will be less in your situation
It is not about blowing something and if I can afford it or not .. it is all about runing that thing safely ..
Let me give you a good piece of advice.
And it's very simple.
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER give anyone the race that they want. If you do you are giving up a chance at the win. Even if it's just for fun.

Racing a bike from a roll is much different than racing it in the 1/4 from a dig. My car was no slouch and I can't say if the guy could ride or not.
Carry on.

I cant help but highly disagree with this statement. The main place your going to have a hard time keeping up with a bike is the 0-75 mph area. Im an avid motorcycle racer and trust me take the roll race. Ive done many street races on my bike and I begged for the dig. If the guy knows what hes doing you will never have enough room to catch him. Keep the bottle pressure up and try to get the jump and you should prevail in the higher gears.

Most of bike friends advise me to go from a high roll with a bike and arming my nitrous from that gear specially with 750 bike ..

I always heard horror stories about the 5th gear problems too, but I myself have not had anything happen. I have a 4.10 gear tho...what I always do is just spray 2nd, 3rd, 4th and as soon as I shift unto 5th, shut down on the bottle. The people I am running (we usually meet and set the runs up) I let them know that I shut down into 5th on the bottle.

My bone stock c6 only ran 12.80-13.0 @109-110 and 2 of my friends cars that both run mid to high 11's at 115-118 run door to door with my c6 from a 50mph roll.
Its mostly how the car is set-up. Drag or top-end.
