I'm at a garage crawl and this old timer (by that I mean late 50s...lol) is talking about how he was using a 150 dry shot and it would work about half the time and when it did it would blow the tires off the car. He said decided to pull the plugs one day(not to read them but just because they were old) and said "all the gawd darn straps thingies were nubs" so he said that was enough nitrous for him and he pulled it off.
When I asked him about heat range, timing and reading the plugs, he looked at me like I hit him in the head with a baseball bat. Then I told him he did the right thing taking the nitrous off. That **** will destroy your motor.
I'm by no means an expert on this but it made me laugh to myself.

The shop had put stock plugs back in, gapped to .060. Spark blew out after about 5200 RPM

What does running aftermarket ignition have to do with running race fuel?
I have run 116 VP on the stock ignition on my 87 T-Type without issue so I know damn well an LS1 ignition is more than capable.
