Yep, definetly go ahead and replace the pump. Better to be safe than sorry.

Haha! Great line.

I agree. I upgraded to the Racetronix kit when I added just a 100 wet shot to a H/C car. General opinion has always been 500 at the wheels is pushing it for a stock pump. Nitrous is a bit harder as the rails drain quickly and drop the fuel pressure when the solenoid opens, a larger pump will reduce the drop and recover pressure more quickly. The Racetronix kit is a fairly easy install, and very reasonably priced. Well worth the safety factor. And like any modder, odds are you'll just be adding more power down the road, and this will give you more room to grow.

Every single Horsepower the engine makes comes from the fuel. So it's pretty obvious you need a good fuel delivery, but it's one of the most neglected aspects in racing.
Some people spray 150 w/stock pump without issues, other guys have trouble with only 100HP. Thats because every car is different, every pump is different, some are older than other, some cars have more mods than other.

A good fuel pump is money well spent.
