I'm going to be installing LT's and a custom 3" true dual exhaust here soon, then about a month/month and a half after that I plan on installing a 50-150 wet shot nitrous kit. My question is, when I have the shop tune my car for the headers/exhaust, can I also have them tune it for the nitrous, even though it's not already installed. Just so I can avoid paying for a second tune..
Thanks,
C.

It depends are you going to get a timming reatard. With nitrous all you have to do is get your NA tune right on then you just adjust your timmingfor nitrous You riching it or lean it by the jets. Get yourself a good wideband to. If you are just do a 100 shot then they can lower your timing accomadate that. If they are a good tunner they should be able to tune it. Then after you get the kit on go back and have them log your car with the nitrous tune when you spray it.
Use the same OCTANE you are going to spray with when you tune and the same plugs. So the tune is not off.

I'm going to say get everything done at once. Wait on the all the parts and put them on at once and then tune it all at the same time. You can get it close but why? Is your life really going to be different waiting another month to put on your headers??

I was planning on going with Nitrous outlet, and I keep think they came with a controller similar to that??

I don't have the extra 1000$ to put down on tuning software/books, I wish I could, but I can't. So I DO need to tune the computer for the nitrous? A separate controller won't work? Or what?

First off I think the investment would be more like 600-700. You need the ability to pull timing on demand. You can trick iat. Or if your tuner can load a COS5 tune, you can use that to pull, though he would have to make changes if needed. Just makes more sense to do it yourself, whenever.

Wow..... To the OP, both of those controllers are great and will do what you want. But FWIW I run my nitrous tune all the time. I havnt been able to make back to back passes to see if the 6degrees is hurting na performance or not. But you would also be fine to just install the exhaust now and tune when the nitrous is installed.

Hey guys, I talked to one of the shops I was recommended in the area, and asked him about the tune etc. He told me that the best way would be to tune the car for the headers/exhaust, then when I install the nitrous kit, get a controller that when 'armed' will retard the timing. He thinks the controller is plenty for a 100-125 shot, which is all I plan on doing. He recommended 'Harris Speed Works micro edge and interface' nitrous controller, it has things like FPSS and the window switch.
