Default Safe to spray a high mileage stock block?

I have a cam-only 2000 Z28 with 138k miles on the clock.

I was thinking of doing a head swap, but now I'm thinking nitrous.

I already have a bunch of stuff to install:
  • 42lb injectors
  • Pro Products 96mm Typhoon Intake
  • Pro Products 101mm Throttle Body
  • Fast Toys 104mm Lid
  • TSP 100mm MAF

Now I'm contemplating a 100 dry shot via Halo Kit & NANO 3000.

The car currently makes 366whp (Mustang). After inductions mods above, I expect to make around 380whp. I'm pretty sure a 100 shot w/ NANO would put me around 470-480whp.

Does this sound too risky for a high mileage stock block?
I have always kept the revs below 6400 and plan to keep it that way.

Thanks in advance.

but seriously if your motor has no problems as of right now and you use all safety precautions such as reducing timing, window switch and wideband / plug tuning you should be fine..

Depending upon the size shot, it might also be a good idea to get a set of nitrous plugs.

My camaro has 170,000 miles on it and I spray 125 wet shot with no problem and it loves it. Just buy the right plugs and all the saftey stuff and you should be fine. The highest I would go is a 150 anything above that your asking for trouble.

When spraying anything more then 50 hp, you should put a step colder plug. It is cheap massive amount of safety.

Do a leakdown and compression test on the engine. If it passes and it doesn't burn oil, then rock on.

+1

I would go pick up a set of NGK TR6 plugs. They are one heat range colder than stock.

You would also be using the wrong plug. With nitrous, he should be using a br6ef or br7ef...

Why on the sticky at the top of THIS forum does it say to use a TR6? I was told that by a top tuner in NC and read it on the forum here.....

i have no hard facts to post to prove it but in the nos tuning guide it says up to a 100 shot of dry that on gm ls applications you are fine with stock timing and fuel but may want to drop in the heat range as a big safety precautiion.
