E85, High Compression and Nitrous question
I'm doing a build now on an LS1 for my camaro. I plan on building it 13 to 1 compression and on E85. Was trying to search and cant find anything. Does anyone know how much nitrous I could spray as long as it test 85% ethanol? Or If I just bought some Rocket Brand E85 when I spray?
Thanks for any help in advance

im pretty sure u will be ok running a 200 shot with e85. the octane level is around 115 because of how much it reduces the motors IAT's. and the minimal CR of a motor to run on e85 to take advantage of its characteristics is 12.1 i believe, that is unless your running boost. and running that 200 shot is gonna rely on your tuning abilities no mater what cam you have in the motor. also people run e85 because you can be a little more friendly with the timing depending on your setup.

If you are going to run the motor on a 200 shot I would suggest a stand alone with some c16 in it. And run a spec e85. Not pump e85.
I have been thinking about switching to it. I was going to last year but keep putting it off. I like paying $6.50-$12.00 a gallon for 110 and c16 lol.

Well see I have tested our E85 here at the pumps and it is exactly E85 not E70 or E83. Meaning its exactly what it is supposed to be. If I ran a standalone with C16. Wouldnt I have to adjust the tune for it? I plan on having an E85 motor tune and then an E85 nitrous tune. Guess I have alot to do. Just wanted to raise the compression to fully use the capabilties that E85 has. Then wanted to make sure i could still get away with a 200 shot also.

I have gone back and forth with this several times through my build but finally/recently decided to stick with C16 after weighing the idea of grenading my high $$ motor over a few $$ on price of fuel. Two other things that went into my decision were, E85 goes badly more quickly than conventional fuels and its economy is terrible so you might pay less but you have to buy more.
NA I think you'd be fine but on the spray I'm not a fan. I have been told NOT to mix the two even with my stand alone and watch out for winter blends from the pump see a lot of E70 ratings when cold weather hits
