Default nitrous not hitting hard

hey, last time at the track, i sprayed a 100 shot and the nitrous didnt seem to hit very hard off the launch at all. i am running a nitrous outlet plate setup w/ nano. the car felt real good in second and third tho. i am controling it with a microedge controller and there are no delays or anything set. i am doing a good purge as well. any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Typically when the car "hits soft" it's because it is not making the power. My guess would be Rich or Timing to low. Only way to tell for sure is plug reading.

My car will do the same when my timing is extremely low. My good friend listens to my car as well and he describes it as "sounding lazy". As i add timing back it it really cleans up the overall sound of a pass.

Kind of like watching ATV and Shiz's car run at night. When you see the candles lit, it is set on kill.....

when I had my nano hooked up to the wrong port on the n2o bottle it hit soft. When I finally changed it an got a retune it was a whole new beast. Just my experience.

Is it wet or dry? Are you running a standalone fuel cell? Not enough fuel will make the kit hit soft. Fuel is torque and if your running lean for what ever reason the kit will hit on the soft side but will still make power.

Yes the nano is in the right port. I too have a standalone (c16) and I run 36lbs with a 28F jet on n20 daves plate kit too, maybe check the plugs to see if your running too rich?

11.5 is way too rich for nitrous. Stick with an af similar to what you run na and you will make the power. Rich is not safe. Ex. If you make peak power at 12.8 na then tune the nitrous for 12.6 or so.

okay thanks for the info Carter. next time i go to the track i will check the a/f and hopefully will have someone that can read plugs with me. could launching off the 2-step be causing it to be richer off the line too?

A/F will be all over the place when comparing what nitrous guys run. Until you pull the plugs properly, you have no idea if you are too rich or lean, or if you have more room for timing.

The dyno is great as a controller environment to make sure a system is working properly, but it is not where nitrous cars get tuned.
