Judging on what I've researched, and seen in a particular Chris Farley movie, the only real damage that can occur is if the line ruptures and you may find yourself in hysterics.

I have never laughed so hard after the last few posts.

I know a guy that sprayed a 175 dry shot before he maf on his completely stock 98 Camaro. I believe it was running high 10s. It had close to 200000 miles and then it finally let go due to a cracked 7 piston. The bearings still looked brand new.

If you are willing to do the research you can spray safely for a long time with the listed motor. I run a stock motor minus cam shaft and use a .088 jet or 250 shot. If i had what you have I would be spraying 350 or greater. I actually plan on spraying 300 this fall but I need more safety equipment first. If you built the car to run then run it

wondered if a Fast and Furious was going to make this thread lol

OP don't worry you can spray no problem. Like previously stated just have a good tune, and drive like you've got some since. Don't spray above 4th gear, under 3,000 rpms, pull the appropriate timing, get the right plugs, and stay away from that limiter.
Read the sticky and search ls1tech and you'll fine lots of nitrous stories with do's and don'ts.
Turn the bottle off when aren't spraying the nitrous, don't leave the bottle in the car on a hot day, and it wouldn't hurt to get a purge, window switch, and some other goodies. just some quick ideas off the top of my head

You will be fine with your built motor. Pull the correct amount of timing and get a good tune.

Ignorance has killed far more motors than nitrous has.... Ask the right questions and rely on good sources of information and you'll be in good shape...

ok so i am a noob to nitrous... what exctly do u mean by getting a proper tune for nitrous. Does that mean going to a professional tuner and having a full map, or just a stand-alone or piggyback system installed? I am looking at possibly spraying my ls1, and i am trying to learn as much as possible before i make the jump.

they mean dyno tunning.

im not too much worried about the nitrous itself as much as other parts of the motor failing. like a few weeks ago, i bent a bunch of pushrods at wot and it started missing real bad. or what if my opti decides to start scattering spark? **** like that
