Default Solenoid Question

Disclaimer: Tried sending Nitrous Outlet a PM, but they've been having website issues. Surprised, as they usually have great customer service.

Went to the track this weekend. Made 1 pass without issue. Subsequent passes couldn't get nitrous to activate. Purged fine all day.

Saw 1600 psi before pre-run (first, non-issue pass) purged down to 1000. Next passes saw 1300 pre-purge. Could my nitrous solenoid have been damaged, even though it worked fine after having the 1600 psi? Can it get "stuck" closed, and if so, how can I fix it?

Thanks.

Try sending Dave, Graham or Chris a pm on here, Dave answered me today.

As far as the solenoid goes, well most won't open over a certain PSI (not sure exactly the limit). This basically is a safe guard to keep people from melting motors. Dave will get you straight!

PM'd Graham here on Monday, but no answer. Puzzling why it worked after it had the highest pressure, but wouldn't work later, when it had less pressure pre-purge.

Have you tried checking with nitrous off to see if the noid is working w/o pressure ?

Disconnect line to intake as a safeguard.

How would I do that? I would have to bypass my contoller somehow. Thanks.

Did the fuel activate on those passes? I am assuming so I just want to double check.

You can pull the solenoid off of the car and put it directly to power and ground. Make sure it clicks. They can be finicky when the see that much pressure. If the solenoid does click, do a test to see if it opens under pressure (900-1050). If it does not work on one or both of these, send it to the shop. We will go through it for you for free and only charge if parts are needed.

Im sure the solenoid is fine. Sounds like the pressure was to high for it to activate.

I see in your sig it says you have a Nano system. If so there is no way to purge the system down. Or did you take the Nano system off the car?

As someone said did the fuel noids work? 1600 psi will mushroom a plunger in no time.

Been so busy with OT at work, haven't had a chance to check it out (or drive the car for that matter). I should have invested in some of the chiller blankets, but ran out of time. Ambient temp was near 100*, so that was the root cause. Brad @ NANO sent me a PM, so he get's an A+ for customer service. Weather permitting, I'll check it out this weekend.
