Default Nano..Worth it?

Im looking to buy a Nano kit and want some thoughts. I fill my own Nawwzz!!! and would do the same for the nano. Im assuming its dry nitrogen, get a big bottle, would I need a pump or is there enough pressure in the big mother tank to fill the small Nano tank?

I fight nitrous pressure everytime Im at the track. The heater just cant keep up, and if Im in a big event like last week at the LS Fest in KY I fell off fast because of the hot lapping..Anyway I dont need the heater correct? One last thing, on a 100-150 shot and a 15lb bottle how many runs should I get before the nano is running low?

Thanks for the help!

I have looked into a nano it seems like allot of money for a weekend racer.

If you are having bottle pressure issues then it seems like your best option. From what I have read and seen it obviously keeps you at a constant pressure and that helps tremendously with consistency.

It doesnt seem to bad money wise when a bottle heater and the **** to go with it is an easy $150..your half way there for the 3000 PSI kit..Idk I race once a month for a street car shootout and then whever I get it out to cruz someone always wants to go play..

For the way you want to do it, yes. The biggest issue is filling the damn thing, but if your doing it yourself, then it's a good idea.

I think itll be case by case basis. If your spraying larger shot. Prolly pick up some ET but the smaller shot Guys will be benefit from the consistency and using 90% of the nitrous. I've seen some guys pick up with a 100 shot...so it will honestly depend on your car

Yes you will gain mph, et, and hp to the wheels.

The link below is a customer from the boards which is an average of what we see as far as et, mph. http://www.nanonitrous.com/jefferypelc.shtml

Here is a GM High Tech article on NANO.
http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...mes/index.html

It is a 1to1 ratio with the nitrous bottle. When your nitrous bottle is empty the NANO bottle will have 1200psi left in the bottle. If you are filling yourself it is simple to get setup. You will rent a 6,000psi industrial nitrogen tank for around $80-120. After you get your account setup monthly rent on the bottle is usually $11-19 and $19-29 to refill it.
You will need a transfill kit from us for $175. We have a lot of people filling from hom/shop and are seeing more people filling these at tracks.

You will not use a heater with this system and one of the things it is known for is the ability to hot lap with it. If you have any other questions let me know.

If you read plugs and have your nitrous tuned spot on, the Nano should not gain you anything besides a lean condition by adding more nitrous, Correct?

If you take factory jetting and add a Nano, you should gain buy it helping lean it out.

This is as much of a question as it is a statement. It makes sense to me but that doesn't mean that it is the way it is.

It will actually flow more due to the fact that the nitrous is in more of a liquid(more dense) then it is to a heated vapor. So even if you back your jet down instead of increase fuel you will still rwhp gains. This is all going to depend on the how the car's original tune up was.

NANO also gives you the ability to hold your afr down track. It is becoming very popular for the boys that run in the mile.

I use it for one reason. I don't have to baby sit bottle pressure between rounds.

Consitancy, simplicity seem to sum it up in two words.

For me it is still a big invstment but seems like if you are running in a class or do lots of hot lapping it is the best and only answer.

What shot size are you running? Normally it is around $319 for most LSx customers. A lot of people buy it for consistency, and not having to worry about bottle pressure. Some people count on the added performance it provides as well. Its amazing what your vehicle will pick up in et or mph with your afr holding steady down track.

If originally tuned right the jetting should stay the same. If your tune is spot on at 950psi leaving, it should be spot on at 950 on the back half of the track. To keep the tune clean you would have to creep timing back In to compensate for the bottle pressure dropping. With nano you MAINTAIN bottle pressure so you wouldnt have to add timing on the back half of the track. A lot of guys usually swap bottles every other pass anyway so more bottles is more hassle. To the original op if you don't want to invest in a nano kit I would suggest getting a water bath made to keep pressure from dropping as much on your run.

Hot water would be great but I drive this car a lot and unless I trailer it I don't have much w me..iv tryd different ways to heat bottles and it falls off too much .I change um out after 3 passes and its just a pain when ur at a big event and some times were not allowd to get out or even touch the car...so this is the perfect thing from what Iv found..

NANO is accepted in both. I am not sure of the IHRA but we do have the letter from NHRA for there approval.
