250 isn't a bad price at all. It will be inefficient because no off the shelf converter is made for that and that is for any so called "stall" speed, something tailored to your setup will work better every single time. This is what people on this site over look the most bar none

py3600's are great on motor
they are also good on Nitrous...
a 300 hit will not have issues...but it will stall up higher than expected on that big of a hit.
py3600's are can be built to spec of the engine if you call in at time of ordering...
which is what I did...
so find out if your buddy called and had it set up for his car, or if it was catalog ordered and generic.

my buddy said that he called and asked what converter would do best on a 250 shot and they recommended him the pro yank 3600. but he doesnt know if they speced it for his setup or they just gave him one off the shelf. will they build the py3600 different if you tell them your setup?
yes...it can be built differently to suit your needs...
mine was setup looser to be a higher stall...

Maybe he changed his policy?
but when I ordered it, he told me to get a py3600 and he would build it on the loose side, I told him I wanted it to be around 4800..
...it flashes to 5k when I nail it...and it hauls ***...
11.2 spinning out of the hole on a shitty nitto street tire and a stock 10 bolt at the time...

Honestly.. Just slap it in the car and try it out... its a very efficient converter at high rpm's
I highly suggest you do an aftermarket trans cooler...something in the 25,000+ GVW range if you can
the bigger the better...
far superior to the stock cooler integrated in the radiator
and dont run through both...thats a no-no
