SHould be close, on the 88 jet I think we were usually 41-43 on the fuel side. You are probably at the right place to start

No probably not, but I would still start off at 2* per 50hp and add one degree to that total and add it back in as the plug tells you.

Thanks a lot guys. I tried to make a few test hits on the 88 jet but my nitrous line could flow enough nitrous. Im still on a -4 main line. Looks like im calling nitrous outlet and ordering my -6 line.

Why do you say that?

I am still on a -4 line and will be trying out a 93 jet this weekend and if it all goes good a 99 jet.

I am going to be upgrading to a -6 as it's the next in line modification, just wondering why you say that.

Did you ever order a purge?

Yeah i had my purge i just didnt install it. I finally put it on though.

The reason i say the -4 cant flow the 250 is because i tested it out on a 46f and it went dead rich. I was at 10.0-10.5 afr. So i but in a 40 fuel jet and it was still the same afr and at the top of the pull it started hesitating almost like it was breaking up. So thats why i think is the main line that cant flow enough nitrous. I also had a full bottle and my bottle pressure was at 950. I do have a pretty long main line that goes all the way to the back of the car, so its possible thats my problem.

Wow that's very interesting.

I have a feeling I will find the limit of my main line this weekend also.

Although mine is only 5' long. and nearly half of it is coiled up on the floor next to the bottle.

Very interesting indeed thanks for that info. Good post.

No problem! You have given me a lot of great info.

My line is probably around 17 feet long so that could be my problem.

Wow, that is LONG!

I hope I don't have the same problem mine being so much shorter.

Yeah i know haha but i still have back seats and i didnt want to mount the bottle on the tunnel so i ran it to the back of the car. You might not have a problem with yours because the line is so short.

im no engineer but I'm pretty sure size of the line, no matter what the length will have the same flow limitations.

You would think, at least in a constant pressure vessel system, but in a system where it is going to inherently drop off the length of the line can and probably will add to that drop limiting the amount of power actually made into the motor I would think?

i suppose that makes sense too. But I wouldnt think the pressure would drop that drastically in such a short span unless the bottle is just low on nitrous already.

Can that ****!

I've got a total of 5' and 2' of that is coiled in my pass. floor board.

Every little bit counts I would think.

Idk about the line length thing. My car ran exactly the same Friday with a 5 ft line as it did Saturday and Sunday with the 12ft line. I'd check for other issues than the nitrous -4 line. I know of cars that have sprayed BIG fogger pills on that line and ran 5.3os in the 1/8th. Not saying your line couldnt be crimped somewhere causing an issue. But I doubt you are at the lines limit on a 88 jet.

I talked with nitrous outlet and they said the -4 line would be pretty much maxed out at a 225 shot. but i think your right, my car was running much richer on c16 than on 93. i didnt realize the tune would richen up so much so that was my problem. i already installed the -6 line when i figured this out but atleast i have no limit to my line now! lol

Back in 06 I found the max of the -4 line to be right about 225ish hp, as we jetted up from there the car progressively got richer, switched to a -6 on the dyno same day and had to abort mid run because the car got so lean, I ended up with 2 dash 4 lines and 2 bottles running 2 kits independently to avoid pressure drop, the only time I ever hurt a stock short block on roughly 300hp is when it went fat and lifted a ringland.

This needs to be framed and stickied in every power adder section on this website.

I used to have a write up on here, I wrote the original how much nitrous an the stock bottom end handle sticky, then after selling the car I stopped frequenting here, now there is understandably a new one. It makes me happy to see you guys still pushing these things.
