Default Hardcore nitrous guys: Tell me your idea of the ideal street engine w/ a 200 wet shot

What is your idea of the ultimate stock cube engine that can safely handle a 200 wet shot. What is the best streetable/powerful split duration cam, recommended pistons/rings, rods, everything. What should be done to the factory crank, if anything? What is the ideal compression? I want to run S2 heads. Basically, the ultimate stock cube nitrous motor that would go in an *almost* daily driver.

Don't know about the best internals. But for a Nitrous system go direct port.

Any stage 2 head (i still think they're all the same), IRS has some inexpensive ones, and GTP has some awesome flowing ones. Comp 221/227 xxx/xxx 112 for M6, 114 for A4 (its just easier that way, but i still think the 112 is better for BIG shots). you could also go with the ARE 226/234 554/575 at whatever LSA you want with they're heads...actually on second thought, if you wanted a package deal and liked ARE you should call them...ARE makes GREAT nitrous cars. anyway...JE, ROSS, Wiseco, all make good pistons, just make sure theyre forged, have a THICK top ring land and i wouldnt go about 10.8 (good NA and N2O number, but you could go as high as you wanted with octane limiting you of course). For constant beating with a big shot, forged rods are a must. Eagle 6.125" SBC rods work fine, but most venders/tuners use Lunati's Pro Mod in like 6.2" or so. You can polish the crank if you want, no biggie i dont think. LS6 or Holley intake (when they come out). TNT or NX DP.

I have a few ideas on a fuel system as well. Id get a nice cell and place it in the trunk/T-Top area, run a nice sized feed line, like -6 or -8, to a pump (carb pressure ~10psi), regulator and straight to the DP. the motor can run off the tank and 93. put 103+ VP in the cell.

That info may be null and void though, since i am not a "hardcore" N2O guy.

this IS a good idea but you will have to put the cell in the engine compartment not the hatch. If you wanted to put it in the hatch you'd have to fabricate a firewall for it to make it track legal

Stock crank/rods with aftermarket bearings and balance.
Wiseco/JE Pistons
Stage 2 heads
NX MAF plate, or direct port setup.
For fuel system I would go with a booster pump with the stock lines and race gas in the tank.

Cheap easy and very capable

didnt think about that Jimmy. guess your right, unless you have a leanient track/offical. only thing about a cell in the engine bay is A) relocating the battery, and B) it doesnt hold a whole lot.

no offense or anything, but would you want any kind of fuel sitting right behind you when you're drag racing at 100mph+?

i sure wouldn't...imagine what could happen if it leaked, caught fire, you hit the wall

this is also an easy excuse as to why to relocate the battery

With a 2 gallon cell in the engine bay, and only using it for n2o, it'll go for more runs than you think

uh..isnt there gas already behind you???? i know what youre saying though. it'd be easy to put all the way in the back though and build a wall, i think. for the weight conscience, they would want it behind the rear axle.

Hmmmm.....starting to sound like my car, except I have low compression at 9:1. Ross pistons, Lunati rods, stock crank, total seal rings, stage 2 heads, ls6 intake, custom fuel system, TNT F2 kit, and soon to have a 2nd bottle.

ok dude. you sound like a big pile of BS to me. you note an MMS heads/cam in your sig, but you always talk about which cam to get. also, you always talk about spraying a 200 shot on a stock motor and it even says it in your sig, but now you have forged stuff and heads/cam????? also, it says stock internals and forged pistons in the same sentence? whats up with that?

if u would like me to update my sig every time i break or fix my car then ok i will, i talked about cams when i was looking for one and now i have one but still wanna know more. you think everone stays with the same cam?!?! OK so i didnt consider forged pistons when i wrote it but other wise the BOTTOM END is stock. in the future just ask if you doubt somone, im not gonna play the flame game.

dude, im not flaming you. but i dont stand for bullshit. you always throw in little comments on "well i shoot a 200 shot on my stock motor" so you had a stock motor and broke on the 200 shot? or your 'stock motor' was with forged pistons. also, genious, the BOTTOM END is the short block. in other words that INCLUDES the pistons. and stock internals means stock internals. no aftermarket cams, heads, pistons, etc. when you shout out times and gaines with nitrous and arent truthful or accurate, you blur the reality lines for people learning.

you are all way off lol
im running (and have been for a while) 200 shot!!!
stock internals ,forged pitons,s2 heads and a custom comp 218-224 114ls cam.tunning with a maft and autoap and some hpp3 stuff for gears and tranyy etc... its a great setup and ive been crittisized many many times but it works and i have had NO n20 related problems. its all in your own confidence of your motor and products you buy feel free to email me and ill tell ya more about it in detail. good luck ps however it is not the "ultimate" street n20 motor u speak of.
