Default Project JUICED stock LS1 99 CAMARO

My brother and I bought the car you see a few years ago and its been sitting so we decided to pick some brains on here and build a stock LS1 trying to make it hit low 9s on spray I will try to post as many pics as we can and this is a work in progress. We are like alot of you out here that have 50 hr work weeks and race for fun as a hobby and have limited amount of money to blow. We started with a 99 Z28 camaro and I had a extra set of warriors I had on my trans am back in the day we threw on it With some MT drag radials for now.
My main goal is to get all the free weight reduction we can now with cutting or losing parts that have no need. Then we will start with buying items as we get ahead on money and make the right choices and making sure the parts we do buy will help with lower 60fts.

I found a wrecked 98 corvette and took the motor out of it has 60k on it left short block the way it was just checked some of the bearings made sure it was all good
We bought a set of new 243s that we found on craigslist lol that someone had in their garage for 2 years
The valves are patriot valves with pac 650 lift springs.
We are using stock rockers, stock oil pump, stock alot of stuff
The cam Thanks Noyzee for helping with the set up on the valve train.

Intake is a ported VIC JR with Nitrous Outlet kit spray bar kit. THANKS to DAVE @N20 for helping me with my selection and advice was greatly appreciated. These guys do top notch work and are always willing to give you a helping hand or answer questions.
Will have dual 10lb bottles and a Nitrous Outlet dedicated standalone, and their progressive controler.

A pic of the intake

Updated some progress. Flat black the engine bay tonight. Put the spacer in and ordered a 2 inch on just in case we need it. Trans is in bolted up,linkage for the TB is all done. Just have to bolt the headers up and get a new u joint and start the tuning process. We are going to run it like this then add more parts to it.

List of items wer are going to do in the future. We are going to see how it runs with the set up we have and see how much time improvement we get by adding the parts below

New rear QA1s
chromoly T.A. the race version
Drag bar. weld in
ABS delete
Manual brakes.
Electric water pump.
New chromoly cage. cut out the mild steel

Here are some pics I took tonight after the engine bay was painted.

Very nice guys, with those heads and intake at 3k race weight and the right converter I think 8.9 is very possible. Keep us updated!!!

Same here brotha looking foward to having the 4-5 stock bottom end cars in the 5's!

I know there are a couple people from my area looking to do the same thing.

We should put together a stock bottom end ls1 or ls6 block nitrous shootout and jet limit it and put a 3000-3100lb weight limit on the class. Progressives allowed, aftermarket heads allowed(with a 50-75lb penalty) foggers allowed, plates allowed, and either a 28x10.5 slick or a 275 drag radial allowed.

If the boosted guys want to come play they can get in with a minimum weight also!

Sound like fun to me! Might be hard to make it work, but that's the fun part!

I agree would be fun. Ive been to several lsx shootouts and the only class we can run to be competive in is the rumble. All the other classes you have to have a crap load of money to compete against 7sec cars lol.

When do you think you will be testing?

I'm hoping to test mine for the first time Thursday. If not then I will be jumping into the first race of the year untested which will suck. Hell I might make my qualifying runs on motor just to get in the field.
