Default Dyno results for NOS 5177 on .032 jets; A/F 11:1, max HP 386, max torque 470.

The NOS tech said to get a wideband A/F on the Dyno, and I think 11:1 is plenty rich. Did a normally asperated pull first and HP was 307 with torque at 322. This car is a 2000 C5 with 2.73 rear and did a 12.8 last year. I am hoping to be in the 11's now.

I like 12.5 to 1 personally. Good luck on the 11s <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />

The NOS tech said that running really rich will make more power, and I feel safer being richer. On the Dyno, it ran 12:1 without the nitrous on.

IMHO that is way too rich. You will not make more power but much less. Shoot for 12.5 as 383 suggested.

Are .032 jets the 150 shot?

Dual .032s are a 100 shot.

IMO 11 to 1 is too rich for where your are. You would make a bit more power at 12.5 to one. Or if you want to be VERY conservative go 12 to 1.

I am very much suprised about the 11:1 A/F ratio being too rich. I remember calling the NOS tech, and he said that richer will make MORE power (specifically more torque). I will call NOS back tomorrow and get some more input, until then, what does everyone else think.

I think the NOS guys tend to be very conservative, which is not a bad thing. 11 to 1 may or may not affect power. Last time I dynoed my car I started from 11 and ended up at 12.5 over about four runs. All the runs where damn near identical, just a hair more power at 12.5. Running at 11 to 1 may not make any difference at all except give you piece of mind of being on the "FAT" side. No harm there. especially with a large shot (like 150-250). But at 380-440 hp total I would shoot for 12.5 or so, you may squeeze some more power out of it. Let me just say this: 11.5, 12, 12.5....at 400 rwhp its kind nitpicking. My own personal veiw is 11 to 1 is the most bottom youd want to go with out performance suffering and 12.9 to 1 is probably the maximum I would feel comfy at.

Do you have a MAF translator?

This topic is sorta loaded.....the af ratio depends almost entirely on the fuel used....

At cal tech a test was done......and 11.4 yeilded the most power but given deferent fuels its easy to alter that number.....a dyno is a good tool for it.....with wide band.....if it was 12 /1 na try leaner na first and see if it makes more power.....I ussually try to run the same or as close as acheivable as na numbers to be safe...

BTW ....I got 114 rwhp with one 64 jet....I don t know but is two 32's the same area as one 64?

1320, check using pie times radius squared, you will find that one .064 is more flow than two .032's. Back to the other subject, I called the NOS tech back, and he says, most torque available at very rich mixtures.

Yes, but I wasn t sure if the jet size was actual size? I ve heard that some nos companies (I don t know if nos) do not correlate a actual size to the jet number......

I ve seen different companies jets with the same number but appeared different in size and some have seemed to just use a random number....like 1,2,3,4 etc.....
I haven t tried a drill size.....I guess I should.....
