Default A little warning about Nitrous Express

A few weeks ago, I bought a NX bottle heater, hooked it up and turned it on.

Well, my bottle never heated due to a faulty heater pad. I called them up and talked to Michael Smith in tech support. Told him I measured the resistance on the pad and current, Etc, and didn't care about that.

I told him that the pad was just barely getting warm and he had me check a few things and then he decided for me to send the heater pad and transducer back to him. I asked him if there was going to be a charge to get it checked out or replaced and he said NO.

At that time, I thought cool, great customer service. I sent the heater pad and transducer to him the friday before Good Friday (Prioity Mail). He said that they have a one day turn around. So I was like cool, shouldn't take too long to get it back. I told him when he ships it back to me, have it where nobody has to sign for it since I work during the day and the wife goes to school during the day. He said OK.

Well, Easter came and went and no parts back from them. I called Mike up and asked what's going on, he trys to play me like a fool and tells me they have been having computer problems in the shipping department. After basically twisting his arm, he put me on hold to find out what's going on and when it should ship. He said today (wed April 3rd), so I was like OK, give me a call back when you get a tracking number.

2 days go by, no package from UPS and no phone calls from Michael Smith. I called him back up and had to bug him again. I talked to him on friday April 5th and he said it shipped out on Wednesday and I should get it monday the 8th. He gave me a tracking number, but he gave me one that didn't work.

No package Monday the 8th. I called him back up on Tuesday the 9th and asked where it's at and he said it shipped on FRIDAY and I should get it in a few days. So basically he lied to me about when it shipped at first.

It finally came on April 12th (friday) and when the UPS guy came up to us (wife and I were washing cars) the UPS guy said there was a $14.00 COD !!! WTF The only way to get it was to pay $14.00.

I called him back up and asked what the hell was going on and he said that it was a shipping charge. I said "you said there wouldn't be any charges" he said there wasn't on the items themselves.

I told him that I don't think that was fair since he never said anything about additional charges to ship it back to me. Plus I thought that $14.00 was a little steep for a 1 lb package. Basically, he didn't want to hear about it.

Well after 2 weeks, NO returned phone calls, and $14.00 later, I got my bottle heater up and running.

So, now you know about the SLOW/POOR customer service from Michael Smith at Nitrous Express....

A similar thing just happened to me, except with my remote opener. I emailed back and forth with him a few times..he gave me an RGA# and indicated no charge of any kind. I mailed him the part and he said he was going to replace it and mail it back. A little later he emailed and said he had replaced the fuse (which is fine as long as it works) and it is on its way back. Then i find out the same thing $14 COD charge. I thought the same thing WTF he never said anything about a charge. So i emailed him and he said they cover the cost of the repairs but not the shipping back and that is standard procedure for companys
I just didn't want to deal with it anymore so i payed the $14 and got my opener back. Not only am i out a few weeks of the opener being gone but i am out $20 ($6 to ship to him $14 to get it delivered)

Yup they are pretty busy right now. They just built a big ole new building and are in the process of moving, not an excuse for the bad service but understandable.
