Default msd window switch reading low rpm

Ok hooking up my window switch. 99 SS. Tach signal hooked to the #10 white wire on red pcm plug. Msd set to cyl 1. RPM reads low. Tach reads 600 at idle msd reads 300. At 1500 rpm msd reads 600. 2000 rpm reads 850 on msd. What am I missing here?

Have you tried 4 cyl mode instead of 1 cylinder?

If this is the window switch you're using, the blue and red looped wires need to be cut like this.
