Nitrous Hiding
im gettin the NOS 5177 kit which comes with the 15lb bottle. i plan on getting a 5lb or 2 1/2lb bottle and stuffing it in the spare tire well. what do you guys think? i need to keep my spare tire in there so i think i may have to go with the 2 1/2lb bottle. what do you guys think? i need to hide this bottle <img border="0" alt="[Firebird]" title="" src="graemlins/formula.gif" />
Make a fake boom box in the rear well...If you dont have T-Tops. Get a couple of old 12" subs in a flat piece of board. Make it look like you added some speakers. Do a good job, and make it look real pro. Hide the 15 lbs. bottle under them. Use loom wire wrap on the nitrous lines. Wrap some black tape around the selinoids, and cover the nitrous lines again with some loom wrap. Put the button in the ashtray (arming) and make sure you cover all the extra wires with loom and hide the relay switch behind the battery. I have a buddy that has had his hidden for 2 seasons now. At night with just raising the hood, and immediately closing it NOBODY NOTICES! He rips on mustangs, vettes, and even LS1's with light mods. GO FOR IT!
yeah man, i do have 2 12inch subs in my t-top hole. i was thinking of puttin the bottle in the box but i still wanna bump my system. i think im just gonna put it under the box. the box is suspended on the t-top mold and there is like a foot of room underneith. i heard i sould be ok, if i have a leak, the NOS wont detonate even if i get a spark from the system cuz it needs something like fuel. what do u think?
Dont think the bottle is much taller then a foot or so with mounts. Run a silicone hose from the blow off tube to the spare tire well. There is a little gromment under the tire that goes straight out the bottom. NEVER HAVE A BOTTLE IN YOU CAR WITH NO BLOW OFF TUBE. No it wont catch fire to easy, but if the bottle overheats, and in summer they can get pretty hot, the effects on nitrous pouring out of the bottle are horrific.
The bottle blows the burst valve, your driving down the street. The nitrous rapidly expands into the cars cockpit. You have no time to react to the searing pain that is now in your lungs. The nitrous crystalizes your lung tissue. Choking, you hit the brakes and if your still alive you get to roll on the ground coughing up blood, before you get the neat sensation of walking down the tunnel into the light. People will ask what you died of, and all anyone can say is stupidity. Sorry to be so scary, but this has happened. Nitrous will kill you if your exposed to a large amount of it in a small area. Get $2 bucks worth of tube, best safety device for nitrous there is.

Do not get a smaller bottle unless you only plan on spraying 100 or less. I have done this and it barely works, the smaller the bottle, obviously the shorter it last, but also the quicker the pressure drops. It is not worth it, unless you get a 5 pound bottle. I had 2 2 1/2 bottles Yed together, and thought that would be equal to a 5 lb, nope, the nitrous draws out of one bottle, then the other, not both at the same time.
I used a piece of 1/2" aluminum fuel line for my blow-off. Another good idea would be to use a couple of clamps to secure the blow-off on the way out of the car so the tube dont fly all over the place.
