What's the break down of the motor if you don't mind sharing?

Aluminium block?
what heads?
Edelbrock intake?
main studs?
head studs?
what size converter

etc....

don't be shy now!

But im not gonna give you my exact setup. We worked hard on this setup. LRE is a phone call away. Its a carb, hyd roller cam, dart heads, vic jr. Plate kit with a motor converter that likes spray apparently. Were really still getting a handle on this setup. 3 passes so far 2 went on the bumper and the other went 9.19. Next year should be fun!

It's a 5.3 iron block, bored 3.905. Ported Dart heads that I did in house at my shop, off the shelf vic jr, off the shelf Q850, stock rockers(not even trunion upgrade), Comp push rods, K-motion springs, ls7 lifters, my custom cam, Cloyes double roller timing chain, melling HV pump, callies compstar rods, diamond pistons, clevite HX bearings, stock 5.3 crank polished. ARP main studs, ARP head bolts. Block is half filled also. The block added about 150lbs to the car, and we only used it because I had it sitting there machined and ready for another build after we hurt the aluminum block..

As Nick said, we went 9.19 on our 3rd pass basically on the new combo.. Totally out of the box .86 jet tune up from Steve Johnson, we had #10 plugs in it and it was pig rich in one of the pictures you can see it rolling smoke for 200feet.
1st pass

2nd pass(record)

3rd pass(broke the travel limiter and car went hard left, had to lift)

A few updates...
Got my new super vic, 2" kooks, Leash electronics, made some lightweight door panels, removed all the stock wiring, and added a lightweight steering column from dmh. Switched out the sa qa1's for some strange da front coilovers, so far i took another #70-80 out of it. Making a few more changes to the fuel system should be a lot more capable and easier to work with and hopefully drop another 10-15#.

As of now were just waiting to get it down to eric at Mwc for some tweeks and the 8.50 cert.

Goals for this coming year :
8.xx
2900# rw

Lastly someone trade me a powerglide for my th400 thanks

You could always put a Griner trans brake in it and leave in second gear.

Nick is a virgin in the transmission world... He just wants a glide because it weighs less, I don't think the car will go faster with it.. I'd much rather him invest in the new Reid or ATI 400 case, and make it a 2 speed 400...
