Default Small shot dual stage for traction...will it work?

Ok, mods in sig.....

I do MOST of my racing on the street right now, and i NEED traction....I was wondering...

could i run a dual stage wet shot, say...75 out of the hole, and another 75 around 4k or so?

would this be feasible? anyone ever done it?

thanks

It would be more feasable to put some sticky tires on the car and launch NA then spray your first stage in second gear and your second stage in third and 4th gear.

Doing it like that would be your best bet if you are worried about traction.

sorry, forgot to mention the ET streets..... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

now forgive me, im new at this kinda....

a dual stage, how does it work?

i know a single stage, using a window switch, you activate it, launch, and it comes on at a set rpm

so, if i wanted to use it only in 2nd+, i just activate it in 2nd...

does a dual stage have to switches?

<img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

never realize how little i know until i start asking questions <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

BTW, thanks for the reply

Navy David SS.

Im not trying to be a dick here. Im really not. However, Im pretty sure that not once in any post there did i say the word SAFE. I asked 'will it work', 'is it feasible'.....not once did i say safe.

so, please kindly step off your soap box and dont reply to my thread if your not on the subject at hand.

thanks

Matt, from many years of spraying and praying, it is always best to hook it and then bring on the power. Its done best with a progressive controller. With the proper controller, you can even set up a timed delay and bring it on in percentages as you see fit. It will come down to practice and what works for your set up. Stages are best for the track when you have ultimate traction.

I run a two stage system 75 out the hole 100 on the second stageit is all nx stuff you can orderit right from speed inc. I have an a4 so this might vary for you a little. I have 2 timers made by a company called auto rod controls(ARC). They are adjustable from 0 to 1 full second in 1 tenth incriments the first switch is set at 6 tenths it turns on the 1st stage and the 2nd stage timer that is set at 8 tenths that is on the street at the track the first is at 0 and the second is at 6 tenths. moser 9" 3.50 gear 3200 stall et streets 1.58 60ft times bmr adj.torque arm bmr lca lowering brackets. yada yada yada.

there are many number of ways you can hook up the 2 stages I choose the timers because the are exact and do the same thing every time as long as the traction is there. they are more consistent as is the a4 it takes missed shifts and inconsistent shifts out and should run more consistent you hitting a hand operated button will work but is not exact. It is all in what you want to do.As for the rpm the n2o actvates I don't know the sooner the better just find a place to start and keep going down the sooner the 2 stages are on the faster you will go if you wait till3 gear to use the second stage you won't see much of a gain. In a prostock after the 1/8 mile evrey 3 mph is 1/100th of a second.
