I don't have ATAP and I am running a TNT kit. There are several guy's all over the country with LS1's that know absolutely nothing about the internet and a-tap, but do you think that stops them from running nitrous? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
I would say that probably 50-60% of LS1's out there with kits on them don't run a-tap...

IMHO = In my Honest Opinion
As for N2O without autotap, I'm one of those people. I've never used autotap but have been running a 75-100 dry shot for about a year and a half now. Not sure how many bottles total... Maybe 30 or so 15lb bottles.

NO autotap here either. As ong as you aren't running some kind of crazy shot you can get by without it(but you won't be able to fine tune your setup either, you need more than autotap for this anywaysie wb 02). Just read your plugs and make sure you aren't running lean.

Well, I dont have access to a laptop, and buying one plus autotap and the harness would mean over $1K. I dont see that on my agenda list anytime soon.

I went without ATAP for about a year. I was spraying a dry 100 shot on a 99 LS1 with a ported mass air meter. After every N20 pass I pulled at least one plug and checked things out. I now have ATAP, and I was running dangerously lean. I have since bought a MAFT and corrected the problem.
I really don't see how a MAFT is wasting money. I bought a laptop for $50 from a pawn shop, ATAP for $150 off this board, and the MAFT for $100. Thats $300 for the whole shootin' match. A far cry from 1k. Look around a bit man, you'll find a good deal on the tuning gear, and be a TON safer.
