It has been raining like crazy lately, but there was enough of a break last Saturday to do one little fun street punch with the new tranny and the TNT 150. All I can say is wow. I hit the nitrous at 70 mph once I got my tranny into third gear (a 1.00 ratio). I was hoping the tires would hold, and they did. It looks like the car made it up to about 110 from 70 in about 2 to 2.5 seconds once I hit the joy switch (which tells me that my 1/8 times would be into the sixes if I could ever hook it up spraying out of the hole). The Yank nitrous converter also stalled beautifully (even from a roll), which probably helped that insane rolling launch.
Nitrous is a blast. Having said that, I think I will use it sparingly. That kind of torque will strain drivetrain parts, no matter how well they are built. All the same, gotta get this to the track soon . . .

Believe me, I am chomping at the bit. But gotta get some minor adjustments and shakedown runs in first.

Hey, when can I come by and see the twin turbo car? Please send me an email sometime.

Greg, nitrous is VERY addicting! When I had a kit on my car about 3 years ago I was going thru at least one bottle per weekend, sometimes two or three
Also, its cheaper and wiser to buy race fuel in 55-gallon drums if you have a place to put the barrel. That is what Dennis (DJ) does. Hand pumps are cheap also.

I'll probably end up going the the 55 galon route myself, once the turbo car gets back. Next time you stop by MTI, my SS is there. It's getting some, well, adjustments.
That is to say I melted a part of a head and my block on high boost.
Studded, O-ringed, Iron block on it's way to the rescue.

I am still waiting for *someone* to come up with a reliable (meaing lasts 2+ years) boosted stock aluminum block. There seem to be far more misses than hits here, so I am kind of waiting to see who does it. In the meanwhile, a studded, O-ringed iron block seems like the way to go. You could probably take something like that up to 750-800 RWHP

Can't wait for you to spray the monster you have, assuming of course that something like that is not already being done . . .

Jayson talks me out of nitrous every time I mention it. He knows I'm known for tearing **** up. He also doesn't recommend anything larger than a 150 shot on my thin-sleeved motor, which kind of sucks. I wanted to go 200+ shot! An iron block, O-ringed, studded 400+ci setup would be ideal for nitrous junkies.
Hey, my truck has an iron block!

15+ PSI, I was leaning out above 5000 RPM real bad. My own fault, the previous owner warned me, and so did MTI, to lay off of the high boost until I finished upgrading the fuel system. Damn Incar boost controller made it easy... I only tried it once
Noone to blame but myself.
