Default Plug reading debate. Who is right?

I got onto a debate on FB in a car group ( I know FB car group LOL) but I didn't want wrong info spread around that could potentially cost someone a motor. It's hard out there for a pimp these days and pimps need cars.

This is the plug in question. We actually pulled a degree of timing after seeing this plug.

Here is the debate. My name is Trey

It went on after this but this is the info that was being debated. The rest of it was a "why I'm right" that no one cares about.

Who is right?

I personally like to keep mine away from the bend. On our stock bottom end motor especially I would rather have 1-2 degrees too little than 1-2 degrees too much on the size jet we are spraying. Degree or two too little and you may lose some power but too much and you lose a motor. Every setup is a little different in what it wants but I prefer to err on the side of caution.

That's where I was coming from too.

This was a car tuned on the street so all we had was the plugs to go off of. Also this was a 150 shot.

Problem with running the timing at the bend is the slightest change in air and you burn the strap off.

If you want to go faster put more jet it in, no need to run it on the ragged edge to go faster.

It always boggles my mind when guys don't mind running too much timing or way too rich ,but, lord knows they won't put more than 150 on one because "I don't want to blow my motor up". lol

2 things that are hard for alot of guys to grasp that I have found.

1. timing numbers.... no 2 combos are the same and its just a number, gotta give it what it needs.....
Same jets on 2 different engines our 396 had 7* and the 460 had 21*

2. most guys want to try and squeeze every last drop out of a certain shot size "150 shot" maybe its so they can brag that it goes x.xx on a 150 shot?
well put the 175 jets in and run a safer tune to go just as fast or faster than your 150 shot tune thats on the ragged edge and lie to everyone that its 150 shot. LOL !!! Rookies

ATV that's exactly what I'm gonna do. I am gonna run a conservative tune on a 200 shot and have fun vs ragged edge 150 shot. Just makes more sense.
