Default I want to see your NOS 5177 kit installs!(pics and details please)

I am looking into getting a system for my Trans Am after christmas and I want to get some ideas about it.

I have been thinking about getting a 5lb bottle and hiding it in the back(opposite of the spare tire well) and running the line under the carpet and through the firewall, BUT what about the nozzles? Doesn't the 5177 have two? I was wondering if there is a way around that?

OK, if you are looking to go stealth (it sounds like you are) there are a couple things you can do.

If you can live without the jack and spare, a 15lb. bottle will fit in the spare tire well. you'll have to make a mounting bracket, but it will fit. The 5 lb. bottle opposite the spare is a good idea too.

The noid's are pretty easy to hide. I took my battery out and unbolted the tray. there is a nice hole right infront, and slightly underneath the tray that the noid's fit nicely in.

Nozzles, the 5177 kit uses 2 nozzles. Its eay to conver to one though, that isn't a problem. Some guys have run the nozle under the air filter, or in the underside of the air box lid neck. Proably the most trick set-up is in the IAT hole. You have to do the timing tricker mod, but complete stealth. I don't have any pics, but do a search here and on ls1.com and you should get a ton of stuff.

Well the reason I want to go with the 5lb bottle idea is b/c people around here know me pretty good and they won't beleive me when I tell em I don't have nitrous, SO I am going to show them the spare tire and when they realize I don't have a bottle they might put out some money.(I won't do this to any1 other than the people around here b/c this is mainly REVENGE).

I am probably going to use the under the air filter idea b/c I it want it COMPLETELY conceiled. All lines and fittings will be covered with tape or that black plastic stuff(the name has slipped my mind for now) and the WOT switch will be on the floor not on the blade.

I think the black plastic you're refferring to is split loom? You mean the ridged tubing you can use to clean up wires, tubes, etc. right?

I think the stuff you are talking about is convoluted tubing. A good idea is wrapping all your nos/fuel/wires in it and run it along your wiring harness. Stock wiring harnesses are wrapped in the same stuff. Just electrical tape it to everything (just like the stock wiring harness) and you can route stuff just about anywhere in you engine bay. It's probably been done before.

I think it is called wire loom. Mount the noid's under the fusebox behind the turn signal. And with dry nitrous you need the two nozzles. unless you are shoting 25hp. If you don't the MAF can't and all the fuel needed and burp-booom. I have seen one crazy basterd use one fan nozzle lasted 2-3 months then bye bye engine. Your call and my .02 cents!!

Yeah I will be using the twin nozzles but will it hurt to point them up from the bottom instead on the side of the air lid?

you can spray anywhere in front of MAF, I have even put nozzle in the air filter itself with silicon around it to seal off. Wynne Speed has the plastic nut fitting that works real good for such things. That would be the best HIDDEN place. If you use FPSS its hard to hide. Anyone who knows anything will see the fuel rail tapped, even if you put a hose there.

How stealth do you want to be? button in horn? arming switch in fog light button? many many options

I'm talking STEALTH! Not as far as button in the horn..... microswitch on the pedal <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> I'll probably put some switches in the glove box. I found a NX Wet Kit for CHEAP and I'm probably gonna get it when the guy comes home from offshore. BUT if I do that then I won't be able to hide it at all...... UNLESS I find a extra fuel rail and cut the back side of it and put a fitting on it and run me a line from the back of the fuel rail(instead of the front) or maybe get a pretty long line and run me a dummy fuel pressure gauge.

We might go over this about the kit next time we speak Shawn.

and run me a dummy fuel pressure gauge.

watch that cuz most of the people running a fuel pressure gauge are the people running NOS , so watch out that you dont make it look more obvious

I never seen anyone try this…

Could you run your nitrous lines thru the rubber drain tube on the 2000-2002 air lids? It would be impossible to see. I think it would be perfect for people who are running dry kits and don't want anyone to know.

this is how my system is set up. i made my own custom dry shot. i just cut out the bottom of my air lid and mounted the solinoid upside down on a custom bracket between the radiator and rad. support. then i pocked a hole in my air cleaner and installed a dry fogger nozzle. the bottle is in the spare tire storage and the line runs under the carpet, through the passenger floor drain plug, under the motor and trans, and under the radiator were it goes up to the solinoid. the wires are routed inside the factory conduit and the micro switch is on a custom bracket mounted on the pedal. i then removed the trunk release switch and mounted the activation switch which is wired to the acc outlet on the fuse box. i am not sure on the hp level on this kit but it is enough to put me in the high 11s with a stock appearing car. i still got the stock air lid to really throw people off. the motor looks completely stock and the car only has BF DR 4.10s and ls1edit.

But where you have one solenoid I will probably run two with the NOS kit.

You don't have any pics of how you have the solenoid and nozzle mounted do you?

I put my switch in the bottom of my ash tray. It is black so no body can see it and I put it as close to the back of the tray as I could. So far it has never been found. I also had a dummy throttle switch so I can just pull the wire off to say "Look it is unhooked now".

99 Z28 K&N Cold air, 3.73 rear, ported/polished throttle body, ported/polished maf, and a 200 nos dry kit.
