Fuel Pressure?

Fuel Pressure?

I bought my 2000SS a year old and it seemed to be totally stock. Now that I have been adding mods, I through on a Fuel Press. gauge. When I turn the key forward, my pressure shows 46-48psi, but when I start the car it shoots to 56psi. Is this normal? What should I do?

thats fairly normal.

56-58 is about where it should sit all the time when running.

I'm sorry, I wrote that wrong. My pressure is at 56-58 when the key goes to accessory, but the engine isn't started. Once I start the car, then it goes to 66-68psi. What does this sound like?

56 psi on my car.

wow... 68psi???

With the key in the on position... i get 48psi... when I start the car it goes up to 58 to 59psi. When you get on it... it drops down and slowly comes up.

im not sure, i dont have a gauge on my car, so im not positive where it should be, i was just going by what every other car i have seen does. 48 off, 56-58 on

But im confused of why yours is so much higher. Have you tried a second gauge by any chance?

No, I haven't tride another gauge, yet. i am looking for someone with a man pressure kit to use though. Hopefully, I will get ahold of one soon. It sure has me thinking.
