Default TNT kit without the power ring

Is it possible to run my TNT kit without the power ring? The ring just takes up too much space and makes things a bit too tite in there. Has anyone figured out another way?

I just drilled tiny holes in the fernco and threaded the nossles in, you don't want to put anything on the inside and risk it runiing through your motor.
