Default Sbe 5.3 300 shot

So I'm new to nitrous only the 2nd nitrous car I've owned and have a few questions. First question is why does my nitrous jet say .160 I bought the car turn key and pulled the line off to see what size jet and it says .160 I can't find any jets that big when i looked online? I was told it was a 300 shot. She 5.3 853 heads ms3 cam springs pushrods and rockers only 73 nova 3300 ish lbs turbo 400 Vic jr elbow and a plate kit runs 7.8-8.0 on motor @ 85 ish then 6.50@112 on bottle has a 4.88 gear how big of a shot is this In your opinion? Second question is what do you guys think would pick the car up the most ? I've had a lot of turbo cars and understand them but not really sure what and how nitrous responds to stuff. I'm undecided on what to do 4150 tb and ditch the elbow, heads? If this is really a 300 shot I assume a specific nitrous cam would help but I'm not sure if it's actuallly that big of a shot. If it's not I would put bigger jets in it. Put had tr6 plugs in it when I got it also they looked way too hot I switched to ngk 9s Heat range as someone recommended and they looked too cold so I'm switching to 8 soon.

Do you have a way to pin gauge the hole? If it is really that big of a jet they are probably just maxing out the system/solenoids. Do you know what orifice the solenoids are?

If it is a .160 jet, then that is massive- a whole lot more than a 300HP hit under most circumstances. What solenoids are you using? Also, is this a plate or nozzle system? They could be using that jet as just a flow-through to help keep the seal on the plumbing, and just running the solenoid wide open.

No markings on the plate or the nitrous solenoid.

I don't have a way to do that, no clue what orifice they are unless you can tell from the pics I posted. How much nitrous would you guys guess it takes to go from 8.0 to 6.50s in the 1/8th car is prob 3500 lbs with me in it. Do you think the 4.88 gear is too much? I have a 3.90 gear I was going to put in

It doesn't have "nos" stamped on the chrome part on the bottom. Basically I'm trying to get it into the 5s if this is a 300 shot or close I don't think more nitrous is the answer , if it's not that much then I would prob just hit it with more spray

What do you guys think about changing from 4.88 to 3.90? 4150 TB? Nitrous specific cam? Heads? I've considered doing a fiberglass front end and bumpers Also I'm just not sure what will lower the et most and what's the cheapest way to do it.

200-250hp. 4.88 is alot of gear for a nitrous car, what size tire?

I don't think it's getting a 300shot I'm guessing the same as above just using to keep the seal..my car with me in it is close to 3450 I run 7.52 na 150 shot 6.7s perfect conditions. I'm guessing there maxing out the system around 200-250 need to get one of the sponsors above to set you up with there plate and solenoid setup. I honestly believe a true 300 shot would put you in the 5's and from there you still have more you could do heads,4150-4500 throttle body setup etc

Your picking up 27 mph on the jug in the 1/8, either it's a really bad setup for NA, or it is really close to a 300 hit already. What converter?

.091 is going to be upwards of 200's close to 300, if your noids support it as well as plate! Car is picking up a nice chunk on e/t with the jug, but seems about right because its probably hard tuned for N20 and your motor tune is going to be crabby with lots of timing pulled....

add the timing back into the motor for a n/a pull and you should be picking up a solid gain

Are u saying to add timing and it will run better on motor? I really don't care how it runs on motor I only race it on bottle really. The fuel jet is a .42 btw

Last night we went 6.49 with a 85 nitrous jet, and 55 fuel jet. 6 1/4 pounds of flowing pressure. I figured its a 200 shot. goes 7.70s on motor. also id say a 3.90 gear will be better.
