What gears for nitrous car?
So I wanted to put 4.11s in my car. It has 400rwhp, 6 speed, cam only. Looking to make 500-550 with nitrous, would those gears still be good? And would I be better off with a 28 or 26 inch tire? I just don't want to put a bad combo together.

I'm around 450 rwhp n/a with 4.10 gears, 6 speed, and 26" tire. Running n/a it's perfect, but traction blows on the 125 shot lol. Even with 315 BFG dr's I'll spin all of 2nd

you would have to calculate your estimated trap, what your redline is, with your your gear/tire height. Pick your gear and tire height to hit the traps as close to the top of 4th gear as possible

Even with a 35 sidewall you think it will be that huge of a difference? I only ask because with the BFG I don't just break them loose a bit....I spin them hard all through 2nd. Doesn't matter if it's a 100 degrees out....it's a total spinfest. I'd love to consider the MT but ONLY if it pretty much dead hooks from a 2nd gear roll

Yeah with the right suspension mods it would make any tire do better for sure. This is one of those times where I have to either take a chance (and lose mileage and handling) and hope it works, or just go with tire like the NT05R or Toyo TQ and except the difference

i dont have that power na, nor do i have a ls1, but my experience with 4.11s and nos is no traction in first and second. i had 275 40 17 555r nittos in the rear. and with a 50 shot it spun from a 40 roll.

I have 3.91s and break loose at 60-65mph in 3rd gear on spray. Also it revs through 1st and 2nd gear retarded fast on the nitrous. I have to really be ready for the 1-2 shift or I'll be too late and hit the limiter. I guess if you can hook it's a good thing, but if you can't hook then it's only good for having fun getting sideways.

You guys with the traction problems need better tires. Bfgs and nittos aren't gonna cut it. Mine makes about
500 on a 100 shot and dead hooks from a 1st gear hit with 4.10s and a 6spd, cold tires on a chilly night. 295/55/15 mt radials.

Last year I ran 295/55/15 Et Street Radials, with 4.11s and 571/606 at the wheels. Would just about dead hook from a 40 with a good warmup in second on spray. (20-22psi) I could do an N/A 1st gear roll at 40 and dead hook lol.
Switching to 305/45/17 ET Street R, hoping for similar results, but I will be making more power. Also got rid of the KYB/Stranos (which did get me a 1.3 60ft...) for Vikings.
Also, if you want to run 4.11s, you will want 28" tires. Helps traction a ton, and you will definitely run out of gear at the track unless you are spinning extremely high rpms. 26" tires and 4.11s 4th gear is done at around 120 at 6600ish. 28" tires put me around 135-137 depending on how long I told it out.
