Default New nitrous guy

Seeing I couldn't afford to go turbo this year I plan on doing a 150-200 shot of nitrous for this year of racing . I currently installed a racetronix 255 pump and put new Br7 plugs gapped at .035 into my car. So now my plan is to run possibly a NX proton plus kit or a different brand nozzle kit. Seeing that I'm automatic I would need a window switch to turn and off at rpms that I would want to spray . I saw the msd 8968 window switch that looks easy to use . Also I would need something like the lnc 2000 to pull timing (6-8 ) degrees when running nitrous. Would this be some of the basic things to get me by for this year ?

Also what rpms would be good to spray when running 1/8th and 1/4? I currently have a 10 bolt with a 3800 nitrous fti stall with 4.10 gears. My goals a 9.99 pass with my current set up and hopefully low 6 second passes.

Im glad to hear that your fuel system is in the right direction. You for sure want to run an aftermarket pump as you are to ensure that the fuel solenoid of the nitrous system has enough fuel pump behind it to supply the demand to the fuel solenoid to make sure proper nitrous to fuel ratio is correct which ultimately affects the air fuel ratio of the motor as seen on a wideband when spraying this motor. The NGK BR7EF plugged gapped .032 would be good to 150hp shot depending on your compression ratio of your motor and fuel that you are using in the tank. We always recommend using a window switch to activate the system. Using a window switch keeps the system consistent and will activate every time the same way. You just need to ensure that bottle pressure is starting at 950psi before spraying the motor. Our nitrous window switch will do a great job of that and It also comes built in with gear lock out. If you only wanted to spray second gear you could lock out first gear which is very easy to set up. Our window switch looks for a drop in RPM and that is how it knows there has been a gear change. A LNC 2000 window switch is a for sure must when it comes to controlling ignition timing on spray. We recommend it for the simple fact that when you are not using nitrous the ignition timing is normal or wherever your tuner has you tuned at. A flip of the arming switch on the nitrous then tells the LNC 2000 controller to remove ignition timing from the motor allowing you to spray safely. A dyno tune is always recommended when tuning your car. This allows the tuner to look at the wideband and graph to ensure the system is working as it should. The track times you run at the track will be the final tuning tool that your dyno tuner will help you with if you ask. Remember to look into the supporting accessories in keeping your nitrous system consistent and working flawless. I recommend using a purge to make sure the line is completely full from bottle to the solenoid inlet. The purge is also used to reduced bottle pressure from warming up the bottle through a wrap around heater. We never recommend using a torch to heat the bottle as that is very dangerous. Feel free to call me directly 254-848-4300 EXT 109 and I would be glad to answer any questions you have and get you taken care of. My name is Houston

Another vote for Nitrous Outlet. Not only are their products top quality, but their customer service is amazing.

I was having an issue setting up my NOS Mini on the new tune and Houston answered all my questions even though I had purchased the NOS mini used. I'm currently running their 92mm plate kit which can be seen here:

The GM X-series would for sure be the best bang for your buck. Sorry I missed the question about where to start spraying at but most people and we recommend activation of Nitrous system at 3000RPM. You will want to end the system spraying 200-300 RPM before shifting this way it will prevent bouncing off the rev limit when spraying.
