Default Designing my own bottle bracket, suggestions?

A friend of mine is an engineer and has access to a room full of CNC equipment. We are designing an aluminum bottle bracket much ‘like’ the DynoTune bracket, with some improvements and changes of course. Are there any things that you can think of that would be nice to have if you were designing your own bracket from scratch?

Anyone??

I’d like to come up with a very original design that addresses any issues with current bottle brackets. If this one turns out well I could possibly make some others for whoever wanted one. One of the main things I’m doing with this is making it look very air craft style and just clean so it goes well with the interior.

I can use stronger thinner aluminum to save weight and also give it the bracketless look… Anything else?

I’m designing it in a two piece configuration. Most of the bracket will stay on the bottle and there will be a base that’s specifically designed to mount on the drive shaft tunnel. This way you can use a strong quick release latch to take the bottle out with out scratching it all up.

News Flash there is allready a bracket just like that it has a base that thas pins to pull and the bottle and the strapes all come out!

Now if you wanted something cool use the same idea billet alum. with the bootom base a one piece that wound be shaped just like the tunel but go down to the stock seat belt bolts. With the 2 piece design you can't mar up the bottle!

This is why I posted up to get ideas… This is a very good one, I’ll look into this when I get a second. I can design and build just about any part I need, and I’m trying to make more plug and play style components for my car that don’t require a ton of cutting and drilling on the car.

Thanks!

Anyone else?

Not bad, did you make that?

This will be interesting when it's done, I just need something that not everyone else has.

Let the bottle come out of the bracket. I don't know about you, but I don't like giving the people at my speed shop anything other than the bottle. I would like to see a bracket that has a true easy-out bottle feature, but lines the bottle back up where it was in the bracket once you re-install.

Not a bad idea… I’ll probably cut one that is like that and one that the bottle stays in.

I must say i havent seen a better bottle bracket then the 860 one with the bilt in heater. it is so easy to put in and out. not one tool needed, no ugly heater blanket, nice clean and neat, light as hell. Im loving mine. I think that is the perfect holder

This one I'm making will have a built in automatic heater also...

I’m adding the final touches to the cad drawing so I can cut the first one out. I’ll keep you all posted.

thanks!
