I just bought a used NX wet kit and was reading that you need to maintain your solinoids so what should i do to them before i install my kit?

First put some power to them and make sure that they atleast click open. It would be a good idea to replace the pistons and springs. You could probrably get away with just doing the fuel noid. Should cost about $30 with a solenoid wrench.

If you send the solenoids in to use, we can check them out and replace any warn out parts. The solenoids have a lifetime warranty. The only thing you pay for is the freight.

NX is great about solenoid maintenance.. Freshened up the noids from my used kit, and they only charge for shipping.

Well I have to disagree with that statement. I sent in 1 of my N20 noids because it leaked, it came back with the same damn problem. Now that same solenoid works about half the time so I'm hesitantly thinking about buying a new 1. I'd have to say they didn't even look at it. Up to this point I would have sworn on NX as my complete system is NX but I'm starting to think differently now. I went from running 9.3s to 9.6s in a hurry when the noid quit working, not good when you are racing and it did it again this past weekend on the dyno when were trying to do some tuning.

I also had a problem with NX warrentying solenoids.

We installed a kit on a customers car. Wiring was all correct. First time we tested the system it smoked the solenoid...The housing was cracked and almost looked like it was oozing something (part of the electromagnet). I called for warrenty and they told me "you must of hooked it up wrong or used it for to long, thats abuse and isnt covered". Well ive installed more nitrous kits than there are days in the year and replaced it with another NX solenoid i had in stock, its worked fine since, but i now have a $100+ junk solenoid that was used once they wont warrenty

I guarantee all warranties that come in are looked at and tested. There is only one thing that makes a solenoid leak through. There is trash under the piston. As far as the warranty goes it is the best in the industry. We cover the solenoid against in mfg defect or common wear and tear (usage). What is not covered is the coil. It is an electro magnet and the only way it can burn out or release the magic smoke is if power is applied for to long of time or bad connection (ground). That is a wiring error. But I have warranted coils on brand new kits before as a customer service. Elite Hot Rod if you have solenoid that you are not happy with it please send it back to my attenuation. I will take care of it. If a nitrous system works one moment and not the next it is a wiring issue.

Thanks Ricky I'll send it to your attention. As I said I've had problems with just this 1 N20 noid imparticular. I run a complete NX Gemini twin MAF kit set up as a 2 stage system with seperate fuel and N20 noids for each stage and it gets really frustrating continuously having problems with the same noid.
