Default multiple misfires in cylinder one!!

well i was racing this supra on the freeway yesturday and i hit my rev limiter when i shifted into third from second. i was running my nitrous kit, 100 wet shot through a shark nozzle. i think i went lean. ob2 said it went lean. my sparkplug is gone. we ran ob2 and it said misfire in cylinder one. so then i changed the plug and it still said the same thing. so i moved coil one and switched with coil 3. then it said the car had multiple misfires!!! do u guys think i blew my motor? or fryed my ring in cylinder one. its a 2000 a4 z28 by the way. no cats either. please help!!

Try swapping the injectors between 1 & 3. I have seen
two different vehicles with similar "dead end" fuel rail
systems that fouled up the #1 injector and no others.
Just the final resting place for sediment.

But you might want to scan current misfires, not read
codes; that is more here & now. Might be that it -was-
the coil (or wire) and it moved the misfires but with the
preceding history, now you have both 1 and 3 in the
history so it's multiple (but for a single reason)?

Can you give us some more info on your set up? If your pushrods are stock it is possible that you bent a couple. Last time I bent a few pushrods the car was throwing random mutiple misfire codes. Where you running a window switch? What did the plug look like? Was just the strap melted or was the insulator cracked and broken, was the insulator clean or all speckled. Also take Jimmy's advice on injectors, I had that happen on my Silverado a few months back at about 50,000 miles.

I would start by checking pushrods and swapping that injector. Can you hear any audible ticking (sounds like an exhaust leak)? Out of the 3 I bent, only one was audible. Also, did you have a window switch hooked up? You can sent me the pic and I'll post it andrew@nitrousfedmuscle.com . Or if it's a smaller file you can actually attach it to your post like you would an email.

I got the pic but all you can really see is the outline of the plug. The strap is deffinatly burnt off past the elbow. Can you describe what the insulator and electrode looks like. Hitting the limiter without a window switch is cause for concern. I would get a leak down test done or atleast do a compresion test. It is possible you hurt the motor. Did you just tap the limiter or did you hit it pretty good?

Yes start with compression test and checking push rods.Im guessing you didnt have a window switch.Get one on there. It can save you alot of headache when this happens.\

When you did the compression test did you crank the motor over by hand or with the ignition? I've tried cranking it by hand and I never get a reading. I would test the whole motor to compare all the cylinders then pull the drivers side head to see if you burnt a valve. If you buy a leak down test kit you should actually be able to hear where the air is escaping out of the cylinder so that could give a better idea if it's a valve or rings without pulling the head.
