Default is a 250 shot too much???? for stock bottem end

Is a 250 wet shot too much for a stock bottem end if its way on the safe side. I'm getting an itch to go bottle, but I want to go big or stay home. I'd be bolt on only so the car wouldnt be making serious power all motor, maybe 320 rwhp tops and thats pushing it.

Read my disclaimer before you guys flame me for saying this.

If you want to do a 250 shot on the stock bottom end, I think you'd be fine. BUT, you would need to do it with a direct port kit, upgraded fuel system, all the normal safety precautions, AND a progressive controller. Progressively controlled nitrous is no where close to being as hard on your parts as non-progressive nitrous. Takes out the big hit and ramps in the power. Very nice.

I wouldn't go over 150 shot on a stock bottom end. Especially if you have other mods. You have other things to worry about though, like are you going to have enough fuel pressure, injection pressure, etc. If your Air/Fuel ratio isnt right, then you could eventually fry your motor w/ 150 shot or more. If you run 100 shot or less, probably don't need to worry about it. But any more than that, you'd better do your homework....

This might be appropriate: If you can't pay, don't spray.

with stock cam heads, i doubt the 250 shot would add 250rwhp to be honest.. i mean kinda need a cam with a big exhaust side to get rid of the air fast enuff id think lol.. plus ur bottom end/trans/rearend will not be lasting long at all if there still near stock form with a 250 shot... infact if u spray a 150 ur trans wont last forever.

and that vig 3600 and 250 shot are gonna have some nasty high shift extensions as well.... prolly a lil to much stall for that 250 shot since its going to act like a 4200+ on spray lol

I'd say get a new rear and make sure they build the tranny to handle it and swap converters first man. the stock bottom end is good to alittle over 500rwhp for alittle bit of time. For that shot definately need a direct port.

Damn Marco, I knew you'd come around sooner or later, didn't think you'd stay just boltons. I would start at around a 200 shot and see how that goes. A standalone fuel system will be a must to get rid of any nasty lean spikes when you first hit it and direct port is a real good idea. I would also replace the rod bolts for peice of mind.

The PYE 3600 should work awesome with with this set up. I've heard guys ranting and raving about this nitrous converter (Tom has some info about them on his site).

Not as long as you know a good engine builder, because it obviously will not last as long as it otherwise would.

I sprayed 250 for 2 years and then sold my motor to a cutomer and it is still running 1 year later with another 25K on it. LOL

As long as the tune is good you can do it without consern. IMO

As stated here the tune is very important! You can do damage with a 75 shot if your tune is off..
