Default nos 5177 jet placement

I just got the 5177 nos kit and in the instructions it shows to mount the two jets on either side of the airbox. I have read threads about people freezing their MAF wires and I was thinking about mounting the jets through the back of the airlid facing foward. Which way should I do it?

I sprayed my 5177 with drilled jets all of last year and never froze the MAF. I drilled the sides of the lid, like the instructions tell you to.

You'll want the jets directly facing each other. This provides the "fogging" effect. People freezing the mass air sensor either have the jets pointed directly at the MAF or placed too far back on the lid itself. Follow the instructions on location. You'll be fine.

When all else fails. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS and follow them word for word. And you won't have any problems freezing the maf sensor.

I agree with the above posts. Put mine in '97 vette air box same as F-body except upside down. Check my web for how I did a Vararam Z06 with the 5177 and it's closer to the maf but points away so it's ok.

Why didnt you just cut the tuips off of those nozzles? Thats the way I have mine done and it works just like the normal kit would but you are able to use larger jets up to a .082 unless you drill the nozzles out to have a bigger orfice.

Id also like to know how your kit is hooked up since I see that you have custom rails. You probably have a regulator somewhere in the car too. Is your nitrous kit setup like a mustag style dry kit? Id like to know.

OK...I just thought maybe you had a big dry kit in mind like myself.

Im using a boost-referenced regulator and am going to use the NOS Co2 spiker from a mustang kit to spike the regulator for the fuel elimination the MAF table from adding all my fuel. Just use the MAF load for my timing retard.

Should work well, we have a similar setup on a Hybrid car with an LS1 in it. Its a 9 sec daily driver On a 150 kit. I plan on spraying much more then 150 though. LOL

I think your far enough away from maf to use either set-up, fogger or like v6bird said: wack um off. The air flow will do the rest.
