Default Wet vs Dry

why do people run dry instead of a wet shot??? isnt dry shot more risky than a wet shot since theres no fuel mixed?

My system is a dry kit, im actually going rich. Im pegging the MAF with the nitrous. Last time i had it on the wide band and LS1edit, i was running a 125 shot, the MAF was going to 80% and i was holding steady at 11.0:1 A/F ratio. I wasnt able to due any tuning, so this test was just to see where i sat at that time. Im waiting for a couple more mods to be put on before it gets tuned. Then it will probably be tuned for a 150 shot.

personal preference, this is a can of worms that will never die. I'm a wet guy, there are lots of wet people and lots of dry people. Wet allows you to run bigger shots. It's generally not recommended to go over 150 or so with a dry shot, but there are people that have done up to 300 shots multi staged with a dry setup. it's all about the tune and the parts.

Here's one argument for DRY.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/nitrous-oxide/304542-z06-pics-nitrous-meltdown.html

Since I am a nitrous newb too, which system will likely cause more damage IF things go haywire?

Agreed, this is a subject that has been beaten to death, unless you have certain questions, then its just basically an opinion. There are tons of facts that can make you go either way, Since i like dry, i could argue that one a wet system, if your fuel solinoid gets clogged, or fails, then you will go very lean and blow your motor, where as with me, im relying on my MAF, so if my car starts and runs down the street, i know ill have fuel. This could go back and forth for days. It all comes down to tuning. Drop a million $'s into a motor, and its pointless without tuning.

In my web under links is a thread on th wet vs dry thing, lots of info. Myself, I believe I can prove with facts that dry is safer than wet, but not totally risk free. Dry is the way of he future on the newer engines. Wet is for wet manifolds and dry is for dry manifolds, imo. Boy am I going to get flamed for this one, that's ok though as I am not anti wet and enjoy the debates.

Unless I find a point where I can get enough nitrous into the intake or cylinders im gonna keep going with my dry kit.

This video is with the kit making about 170rwhp over NA...
