Default Have a problem with nitrous!

well i think its cause i havent changed the fluid in my tranny for awhile and its in need of one.

well the problem is when i spray the nitrous, my tranny seems to granny shift, instead of shift hard like it should with the shift kit.

when i got WOT on motor it shifts fine..

i also have a digital window switch, set at 3k-5,800!

any one have an idea?

Randy

What are your shift points set at, 6,000rpm or so? Are you sure that your not just feeling the nitrous shut off as the car is shifting? When you don't spray through the car will feel like it lags and then shifts. It's just the car loosing all that power coming off the nitrous. When spraying through with my car it would just bang throught the shift super fast. Since you have a built 4l60 try spraying through if your not already.

no im not, i jsut dont want to blowe the motor up at those high rpms, cause for soem reason, my 2-3 shifts LAG all the time on and off motor. It only works when the car is usually cold.

ive dropped my shift point down like 7mph for 2-3 already, and it still lags..

i need to change the fluid and check that out, i also only race on OD from digs

Yeah, if you want to spray through just set the OFF acouple hundred rpm before the limiter. I think playing with the RPM/MPH shift tables is good since that was a big part of my problem when I had a 2-3 lag but it seems like that's not helping you. I can't imagine that you hurt a stage 3 tranny not spraying through, has it done this since the transmission was new? If the fluid really needs to be changed that would probrably be a great start before trying anything else.

yea it did it i think...i called the person who did it, and he told me its because the fluid needs to be changed. Possibility, but if thats not the problem, im going to have him take a look at it..

cuase he said if my clutches ever go out, he would replace the next ones for free..
This guy Owen (ARD) built me a badass tranny..ive had it for 9 months and never had a problem with it, but just that 2-3 lag stuff!

would it hurt to spray through shifts?

2-3 lag can be a developing clutch problem but if the tranny was built with good parts I couldn't really see that being an issues with your car unless it has seen some serious abuse. If you spray through and it's a developing clutch/band problem it should get proggresivly worse. I would change the fluid and if it's not better, take it to him to look at it since he's willing to back up his parts and work.

If it did it since it was new it may also be from a clutch clearance issue when it was built.
