Default Spraying out the hole!

Ok i'm still learning, is it possible not to spray out off the line without a first gear lock out?

I was thinking: Can you just arm it when you shift in second? Or do you NEED to have a lockout!

Depending on shot size, traction, strength of the driveline and your ability as a driver are all factors on spraying out of the hole. On a good track I have done a 100 shot but anything bigger (without a progressive) and I would probably blow the tires off or break something. Switching the system on after shifting into first gear is an option, but for good track times the first 60' is the big factor. Trying a smaller shot and working your way up is your best bet.

Back in the day I made about 40-50 passes spraying a ~125 shot off the line. I broke a 10 bolt once, but it had about 300 passes on it by then. If you have a sticky track you will probably break things quicker, but I was only cutting 1.7 60's at Carlsbad. Best was 11.7@120 stock w/150 jets @800-850ish PSI.

i used to turn mine on about the 60' mark.poor track,m6 with drag radials with 500+tq and stock suspension equals severe tire spin.

I was afraid of doing that I though while you in the middle of 4k-5k that sudden power would be a kill on my car!

I spray 150 out of the hole with a 3000rpm pill and a 3700 stall. The car cuts 1.68 on motor and 1.4x on nitrous. This is with 275/60/15 MT radials. I will be upping the shot one I get my Fast on and do a better tune. Launching on the hose is the only was to go.

Actually, hitting it at about 4500rpm should be easier on your motor. The reason being you should be at or past your torque peak and thus cly press won't be as high as all coming on in first=big torque spike. Thats the key to dual stg and progressive controllers, spreading the torque over a wider rpm range. Easier on parts (rearend/gearbox shafts) for us vette guys, and anyone afaid their stuff won't hold up to 500/600+ ft lb of torque.
