Arrow Need help?

I just got in from putting on the new tnt f1 kit and am having problems. I went out on the highway in 2nd and hit it about 3000 and was detonating i guess, what it actually was doing was like kicking on and off real fast acting like it was poping or something. I tried it one more time in 3rd gear and it pulled hard as hell so i was pleased but i would like some input. I know that maybe if i got better gas that could help but seeing how the best we have around here is 90 i think that might be my problem. I have right now in it 90 plus a octane booster but i dont know what else to do.

thanx

sounds like you are spraying too big, too low, without enough octane ...

Yes, your just running a little lean, and cars don't like to be too lean.. You should be able to spray 150 in first with no problems, you might want to get a little tune done to insure the air/fuel.. Good luck.

Well here is the new promblem, i got the nitrous to work last night and damn it pulls hard, but it only seems to work when there is 1/2 and tank or less of gas. I still think that race gas will help out and if it dont i will let yall know but i just have no idea what to do.

thanx for the help

After thinking of your situation, I started to think of a customer I had a while back that weinstalled a kit on his TA, we went out for a pass and it acted just like your car did, I was dumfounded, after looking into it, we figured out that the other shop that filled his bottle didn't fill it with very much nitrous, the bottle was almost all air, when we sprayed we were dumping more air and not enough fuel into his intake, he leaned out and it ran like crap. After getting though the air, and to the nitrous his car took off like a champ... Try refilling your bottle....

Here's my take. If it runs better on a lower pressure n2o, I would say it's running rich. Why, it's the same as putting a smaller n2o jet in at correct pressure. I do this all the time with a dry kit, upping the bottle pressure is like putting in larger jets, and the same is true in reverse: low press=smaller jets by proxy. Maybe check your jets to make sure they are correct and if so, there could be another issue causing the same effect (like high fuel press). You need to check your timing also. Just some ideas to get started, as it's hard to diagnos a problem without the car in front of you.

I raced on both 900psi and 500psi and both did fine, but its just when the fuel tank gets just above half and under it seems to run best but i will find out tomarrow when i get some race gas in her.

Ok, sorry I got which tank low wrong. Seems fuel tank level may be a concidence, as it shouldn't be a factor as I can see. What about fuel pressure being low, or sporadicaly low?

As your rpm's increase the fuel demand increases. Do you have access to a data logger or tuner program? Do you have a fpss? there may be a few things going on. Lugging the motor and spraying is not a good idea.

I dont have the fpss on right now but i will be going on tomarrow and the reason it didnt go on when the nitrous kit went on is cause the fittings dont fit were they are needed. No i do not have a data logger or anything like that but i wished i did. And i second the ? on lugging the motor.

He means spraying it below W.O.T. - 3,500 RPM or above.
