Default 1st time running N20, diff, than expected

Today was the first time I every sprayed my car, hell the first time I have ever been in a car with n20. I am running a 150shot with a window switch of 3000-6000 It is nothing like I expected it to be like. To be completly honest kind of displeased with it. I can't tell the n20 is on unless I took a my speedo and see how fast I am getting up to speed. Is this normal?

something is not right, what is your bottle pressure at? how far away is your nitrous nozzle from the throttle body? what are the plugs gapped at?

you should be feeling a hit so damn hard, i can feel it when i am only spraying a 75 shot.

That is the same way I felt...if you have a FPSS, check that first. There have been many problems with those being set wrong. Then I would look at psi, make sure you don't have a "flapper" in your line, etc....You should definately be able to feel a 150 shot. I know this sounds stupid, but if you are using a WOT, is it making good contact at wot??

If it is infact spraying you better check your tune on that thing. It might be so far off you are about to lose a motor. You and your tires will definately feel a 150 shot setup right.

A 50 shot you may barely feel, but above a 100 shot and you know it!
Most guys usually work their way up to a 150 shot to be safe, but going to a 150 first time I say . You got a bigger set then me!

All kidding aside, there is something wrong. A 150 shot will normally be anywhere from a 30 to 50% increase in power (RW) on most LS1 engines... You should "feel" that!!! Check your jets, window switch (seems like there has been a lot of trouble there lately) and the FPSS if you have one. Another thing, was the bottle completely open? Was there any black smoke coming out the exhaust?
Hopefully you can locate the problem and get what you paid for... POWER!!!!

Good luck and let us know what you find...

I am glad you brought this up b/c i got a 150 on my car and shot it for the first time wed nite and the only reason i can tell it was hit was b/c of my mph moving up. but my bottle pressure was very low i was hoping that was it cause i was going to try it this weekend on the track and see for definite.

A 150shot should pin you in your seat...especially with your mods. its an instant thrust of brute power...you'll defenitly feel it.
side notes: check FPSS, bottle pressure, make sure your bottle is full <---not that your an idiot but you wont beleive the problems people swear they have with nitrous and all along the bottle has allmost empty.
let us know what is was/is.

Well here is the deal with the nitrous. When it comes to cars and etc. I know alot about it and what to do in the event of a break down and such. But when it comes to nitrous I unfortunately have to admitt I am a ******* retard. I had the car dyno tuned with the n20 at speed inc. The dyno numbers increased with the n20 the rwhp increase 120? and the torque was 150ish. Not sure why I only got 120hp out of a 150 shot. But there are a few things my set up does not have a fpss and there is no guage on the bottle. a couples things that I don't know is that I did infact pay for a full bottle fill, but with out a guage can't really tell. second would the fact that I have a window switch from 3000-6000 play a roll in not feeling anything. What is your suggestion with the rest of the information I just said.

Put a $20 gauge on your bottle and take the damn window switch off !

Really, you don't need a W/S on an Auto., it's hindering more than helping. IMO.

Hmmm, until he snaps a U-joint. Then it's the equivalent to WOT in nuetral with the N2O flyin. He can bring the turn on RPM down to whatever he feels safe at and put the turn off 100 or 200 past his shift point. Now he has N2O almost all the time and if something snaps and the enginge looses it's load and soars sky high, he will be off the N2O before the limiter.

But deffinetly get a pres. guage and heater. Will help out a lot.

I have the same set up as you. When I spray the 75 I can feel it. You need a gauge for sure and get a heater also. I say use the W/S mine is at 3K and 4K.

I seriously doubt he's going to snap a U-joint on a drive-shaft, in a cam/bolt-on car with a 150 shot, that goes with that MOSER 12 - bolt. But again...JMO.

I do have a bottle heater. What is the pressure for a 15lb bottle suppose to be at and at what pressure do you consider it to low and need to fill up again

Normal pressure is 900-1,000. Anything below 800 and ambient temp. at 80 or higher, I would take the bottle out and weigh it. A 10lb. nitrous bottle will weigh 25lbs. fully filled.
I have never owned a 15lb. bottle but I imagine it should weigh 30-35 lbs. filled.

I have a window switch on mine as well...with a 100 shot it will still set you back in the seat. You can definately tell it is there. I like not having to hit the button to turn it on. I just set the window switch where I want it and let that be that. So to me it is not a hinderance at all. A bottle heater and guage, I would say are a must to get the best hit and performance out of it.

Well I finally figured it out. The switch for the bottle warmer and the activation switch is on the same switch, Different positions though. The guy from speed told me having it up activates the n20 and down is the bottle warmer. Well I found out he was wrong it was reverse. DAMN it hits hard. Felt like I pulled the front tires off the ground. I just wish I did not wait this long to get n20. Thanks to everyone who answered this thread.
