I should rephrase that cause the actual work IS hard, I had a torque arm clock my in the forhead over the weekend so yeah it is hard, it's just that's not the part that worries me about a build as much as the planning and buying does.

planning to me is easyer then the rest. the money is hard do to the 50-70 hours a week i work, the install is hard do to well, its install, its manual labor, and the time is very hard considering i work till 5-6-7 pm and im up at 5-6 am to start work, so the 12am-2-3 am work nights are pretty hard.

I see that W2W ran 6.86 in their 352 ci turbo LS1, which more than answers the question about whether a N2O LS1 can compete with a turbo car. Ain't no way, my friend.

Not really a direct comparision.
That is a Pro- Stock chassis.
Not saying the nitrous cars can run that number but my damn that isnt an apples to apples comparision.
Again put the $$ and time into a nitrous car and then put that into a dedicated Pro-Stock chassis and I bet a nitrous car could get close. Maybe not AS fast but damn close.

I'm saying you could put any N2O LS1 motor of your chosing in the Casper car, and it could not compete with those turbo times. Hell, at sea level, I would have to put a 200 shot on my 622 BBC Firebird to beat Casper, so I know an LS1 can't even enter the discussion.

When it's all said and done, these are 10 head bolt street car motors that make really good stock car drag race cars, but all other applications are in question.

Too abd they didn't strap the heads down as good as the bottom end is tied up (6 bolt mains) had that been the case, this entire thread wouldn't even exist. I think it's pretty much agreed it's not a matter of the bottom end holding together, it's lifting the heads and pushing water..... which I can only think of one way around... block fill the whole damn motor.. and don't run any coolant period, resolves that issue... unfortunately creates alot of other issues. I know a buddy of min that does pro sand drags.. he runs a 58x CI big block on alcohol and 1000 HP of nitrous.. they only go 300 feet... but his motor is a block filled job.. and has ran strong for seasons with nothign more then bearings, rings, valve springs and a new valve job. Of course, when you runa solid roller setup that has 900 lift, and you spin it to 8500.. that's what happens to the seats in alum. heads.

I'm sure it can be done.....not easy though. It'll take at least 900 rwhp to put that car in the 8's. And we're talking major expense on the bottom end. Only the best forged internals. I'd say an easy 10k just on the short block. And a hugh amount of nitrous--400 shot or so. Solid Roller cam, AFR 225 heads etc etc. Your looking at near 20k for the motor.
Then you gotta do all the suspension and chassis work to support that horsepower. No, not easy. But it can be done. Streetable....hell no.
A buddy of mine spent 8 years building his super gas Nova. Went 8.80's all motor.
Of course if you have alot of cash you can just pay someone to build it. It would be easy then, but not cheap...
Just my 2 cents

That being said , it's not easy. Give me a small block chevy with the right stuff and I could rape the LS1 thats in my car now and be much more reliable. We do it with an LS1 because thats what we enjoy playing with , not because it's cheap or easy.

The stock PCM if tuned correctly can put a 346 car in the 8's.
We may findout before the end of this year if a DFW car can do it.
If you can run 9.40's with stock heads on a 200,driving it to the track getting in the 8's isnt going to be very hard.
