What Nitrous for me?
Hello all. Well next summer my goal is to be i nthe 11's. So all winter i am going to be workin on modding my car while its garaged. I have plans on finishing exhaust with LTs and swapping my borla for True duals. Also adding an LS6 intake and fuddle stall with shift kit and cooler and gauge. Is 3800 25 str too big for nirous or is it ok, would 3600 2.5 be better?
I am also doing a cam swap. Looking at the MS3 with all the junk needed and am upgrading the lifters for added safety. After that some DR's or ET streets and hopefully i can catch some mid-high 11's. Now after this i want to spray.
Safety is prolly my biggest concern as i pay for all this myself and replacing the engine would put my car down for a long time. I am curious if i can still run a 150 shot safely or is that pushing it with the cam on the bottom end or what? Dry, Wet or direct port? Which set up would you suggest and what type of shot. Safety is my biggest concern prolly. Thanks

You can run a 150 on the stock bottom end no problem, just make sure your tune is good and your fuel system is upto par (you'll need at least a fuel pump). As far as wet vs dry, it's all a matter of taste nowadays. Personally, I like the wet shots, more torque

Ill start with a 100 shot rpolly and than maybe go to a 150 if i man up enough. My car will be tuned my speed inc, Im having them do my cam and trans and tune and i guess ill have them install the nitrous too. Anyway i can hide this? Is it hard to hide it under the hood?
Ok, now which brand should i go with? Nitrous Xpress and TNT seems popular. Can someone direct me specifically to a nice nitrous kit? I want the whole shebang. All the necessary stuff and all the extras to keep it as safe as possible. Now i should run a window switcxh since im an auto correct? And this means it sprays for me? Like i set it up to spray from 3k-6k and when im at WOT and the nitrous is on, once it hits 3k it will kick in anbd spray til 6 k and shut off threw the shift and start back up at 3 k i nthe next gear for example correct? All info is great. Can someone list all the crap i need in a kit and extras for safety and what not? Thatd be awesome. Thanks

Take a look at the Racetronix fuel systems. They are good up to 600 ish rwhp (and up to 650 RWHP with a fuel rail mounted FPR). You are correct about the window switch. I would also pick up a set of colder plugs (NGK TR6s are nice), a fuel pressure safety switch and a bottle heater. Maybe look into a LS1 timing tuner if you want to run more timing NA and pull some when you spray (it also has a window switch built in). The key to having a safe Nitrous system is the quality of the system.I suggest looking into one of the Nitrous Express Systems.No other company on the market can measure up to there quality.They have many to chose from.Single nozzle system,Dual nozzle system,Maff kit,NXL kit,And direct port.For a 150 shot I would not do a Directport.I would look into either the single nozzle,Maff kit, or dual nozzle kit.WE have some specials going for the month of August that you may like.I suggest upgrading your fuel pump to a intake walboro or a Racetronix system.
You will need a window switch for safety and look into a GENX2 package for a all in one accessory kit.

Ok thanks. Well whats the difference between the single, dual nozzel and maff kit?Would you mind to quick explain and tell me which one would best suit me? I am upgrading my fuel pump for my cam, i was going to do the ported ls6 pump? Will this be ok? Also can you lsit all ALL the necessary accesories i need and the ones and i can get if i want to which i will due to i want all the stuff for maximum performance and safety. A ported LS6 pump is usually an oil pump, not a fuel. The 'Vette uses a different style fuel system. IMO your best bet would be for a Racetronix system, or if you're a "DIY" guy you could get a Walbro and a hot wire kit. You'll have to chop up your factory fuel bucket and you will lose some functionally of the stock fuel system if you go the Walbro and hot wire route. Before you make up your mind do a search on here about the pluses and minuses of each. There's a good bit of info.

Ok thans. Yea your right, i read it wrong, the ls6 oil pump is what im getting. Id prolly go for the racetronix kit and have it installed as i am not a DIY man and hate chop jobs. Thanks
