Default Quick help

I'm heads/cam/bolt ons
423/398
224/228 .566 112
stage 2 gtp heads
grenatelli maf
ls6 intake

Would spraying a measely 50-75 wet shot cuase me to need to re-tune? Or can I just spray away? I may need a new fuel pump I realize, which will be going in some time soon anyway.. But as far as the actual tune, will it affect it enough that I need to re-tune? The a/f currently is around 13.1 where is should be all the way up. Thanks!

I would not worry about it if your gonna run a wet kit, just put a new pump in and make sure you arent going lean.

You might want to pull some timing as I'm pretty sure they added a few degrees in the tune. I personally wouldn't spray or recommend spraying a heads/cam car with out a fuel pump upgrade, but if you decide to watch the FP like a hawk!

I also feel that you should check for knock retard. Your current tune may already have you on the edge and just a little more could be big trouble.Never know until you check it out.

Gotcha. Will do. I don't have anything to monitor knock so thats going to be fun. I am putting in myt fuel pump tomorrow so that is not an issue. What do you recommend for me to do? A dyno can't show that either. Am I stuck with having to buy a knock monitor? Thanks for the input!

Would it be ok for me to just bump the timing down a couple degrees? I don't know if this affects anything but it is a tune for 600 feet above sea level and right now I'm at ~5300 ft. I would think it would run richer up here but I don't know. Please let me know what y options are as I am not very familiar with tuning these cars.
thanks

Yea, you'll need something, like EFI Live, HP Tuners, or even a Predator or more advanced scanner. If you don't go that route then pull a few degrees, but usually you need a tuning program to do that, or a LS1 Timing Tuner.

I was thinking about just getting a timing tuner and yanking a couple degrees. That should do the trick I would think. Thanks again

Is there any way of yanking a few degrees of timing without an electronical device like the timing tuner?

You could yank it via the tune. But then you'll have to re-flash the computer every time you want to run more/less timing. Or try the resistor trick to pull some.

I have not tried the resister route. But we sell the timing tuner for 250.00 and it is a simple install.

Yeah i've looked into the timing tuner, I was just seeing what I could do to pull a few without getting that. Seems like it doesn't make much sense and I shuold just get it. Or when I bring it to get it tuned, would the company be able to tune the timing for me and then I'll just leave it like that? It will hurt a few horse n/a but it will be ok for nitrous then. Its a local company that specializes in f body/vettes.

Yup, that will work too. You'll loose a few ponies NA but you'll be fine while on the spray.
