Any good speed shops? Anyone know of a GOOD speed shop around the Chicagoland area?
Had horrible experiences with the local one by me. Cracked my front end during an installation and neglected to tell me about it. Headers put on and must not have test drove the car because of the obnoxious banging noise coming from the rear of the car afterwards and said it was normal. Torque arm put on at a different time and was rubbing against the driveshaft (again must not have test drove the car) and what a simple install to screw up. Blew two cats within 4k miles of LT header install and I'm thinking the tune they did is running a little to rich and blew them, but they disagree. Trouble codes had to be deleted twice from an O2 error read. Had bolt-on subframes installed another time and they welded them on instead of bolt them on (welding is better which is fine), but they didnt' even put the bolts in them and even if you wanted to the bolt holes dont even line up! If I wanted them welded I would have bought the weld on kind and saved myself $100 dollars on top of it. Truly just feel disgusted by these people.
So any shop suggestions anyone?

not sure who did youre work, but i have had all my work done at speed inc. in Schaumburg. They really know there stuff. I had a 383 stroker built with a 100 shot ran 10.7 @ 126 on Hoosier qtp's Good luck, they are one of the sponsers here to the right.

If you are anyplace neer speed inc, you would be stupid not to use them!!!!
Tom is a great guy, and between him and his guys, they will fill any needs you may have. weather it be heads/cam, n2o, or there big thing TURBO!!!!!!

Speed Inc. won't feed you full of crap, they will tell you how it is. Yeh and Larry's great. I drive 4 hours one way for them to work on the car. Just wondering what did it take to get to the 9's anyway, noyzee, we ran 10.8 @ 127 and 10.7 @ 126. Speed Inc. built 383 and TNT 100 shot, Dr. Evil 4l60e Vig. 3800 stall stock rear 3.23 gears. Going to put rearend under it and want 250 shot. Would that do it? just curios. Later

I got a price quote from FLP and they were about 300 hundred more for an install I'm looking to have done, but if it gets done without any problems like I've had I think it's fully worth the extra dollars spent.
Talk to Phil@FLP. Tell him I sent you. There is also Straightline Performance where I get all of my work done. If you want to go there, talk to Nick. They are only 5 minutes away from my house, and I can drive there on my slicks. The only one I have dealt with at Speed Inc is Larry, their shop manager, who is an awesome guy. Never had anything installed there, so I can't tell you my experiences, other than Larry bending over backwards to get me the parts I needed.
