Default TNT ring question

is the rubber o-ring that is installed on the ring supposed to be able to go over the throttlebody ot just butt up against it? i'd have to grind a little off the lip of the throttlebody in order to get the rubber o-ring OVER the TB.

No, it should go over it, otherwise it will not seal correctly, pretty sure that's the main reason the rubber o-ring is there, to make a seal.

SlowPoke, I had to grind down the lip on my throttle body a little and did it at a little of an angle too to get it on, that and some astroglide or ky or some lubricant of the sort and you should be able to get it, may still take a bit of force, but keep at it, you'll get it.

i figured i'd have to do a little machining on the TB in order to get the o-ring around the TB opening, but since the included instructions didn't mention it, i thought my thinking must have been flawed.

Every throttle body I've used the power ring on, I've had to grind/polish the lip off

I put a peice of wood over the end of the ring, and banged it on with a rubber mallet. It's not as hard to get off as I had precdicted either.

This dude from TNT just got a new computer.. I have had been a little busy for the last few days and the computer was locking up during responces so we took it out back to make it our 100 yard target holder "after retreiving the info from it".. Anyways on the original subject the factory castings do vary a couple of thou and it also depends on if its our new style ring vs the old 1 as to how tight it might be.. Our o-rings are usually what makes it feel so tight so we are having some 50dur vs the 70dur custom made to make that easier.. I would reccomend a better method but several of the posts above will line ya out.. Thanks David@TNT
