Smile Did some Bench Flow testing

Just about got everything for my install, went down to New Hampshire and met with Vin @ 860 Performance and got my first bottle fill. We discussed what I wanted to do. I will be installing what I can, and then its off to 860 for the final touches (LC-1 Wideband install and final wiring and hard plumbing ).

Pulled everything out in the garage today, and started with the bottle heater, wired that up for the test and set the pressure switch to about 1050 psi. That DynoTune Heater kicked butt! Was 45 degrees in the garage and the bottle pressure was about 450 psi, I had my doubts as to getting the bottle up to 950, but it did it pretty handily, then I tweaked it to about 1050.

I made a bench flow test plate for the dry nozzles that mimicked the Blackwing Air Intake, I spaced the nozzles where they will fit on the blackwing and flowed them, it appears they will flow nicely inside the filter, the patterns end up about 2" forward of the nozzle location and as they lose pressure go out to about 3".

Talked with Dave about posting the plate flow test, he did not mind at all. Here is a vid of the Dry Test and the Nitrous Dave Plate flow Test.

Right Click Save Target, its about 5 megs.

Now to start pulling the passenger seat and trim...

Cheers

Sweet... It looks like you were having to much fun.LOL Nice vid. Now to explain the flow for the guys that would like an explanation. You see how the nitrous comes out and angles back in 6 beams. THe angle is desghned to collide with the 6 fuel beams that will be comming out of the other six holes. They will collide and the nitrous will mix with the fuel pounding it into a fuuel particle.

Thanks for the Vid Beer. Nice work.

Beer,

Gary in Texas, thanks for the stickers.... I have them, but need to put them on. i JUST sprayed Sat for the first time at the track in the 1.4. It was scary, but really FUN and now I am not scared at all, but do respect the power and am careful.

Thanks again and good luck with your install...................

WOW cool video. I like the way you test and measure everything and are very methodical in your application tetsing on everything from nitrous jets to labels for the nitrous buttons to your custon nitrous panel plate you made....

EXCELLENT vid beer! I guess you didnt tighten the N2O fitting fully for the test right? I noticed it appeared to be leaking...on the plate vid. I think you just sold me on buying Dave's plate. Geez the mod bug never ends! lol

cantdrv65 Your right, on tightning the plate hose, I dropped the 100 jet on the floor and got distracted looking for it, I gave up, and got the 150 jet, put it in hand tight then went back to the bottle to see what temp it was, and plumb forgot (Pun intended...) to tighten it up.

I am impressed with that wall of Nitrous it forms. Getting my turkey baster today (LOL I will explain later in my "Put my plate in today" thread...), hoping to install the plate today or tomorrow.

Sticking to the plan on the two stage, although I really want throw a fuel pump in next to exploit both stages...but it will have to wait, to many projects.

That plate system (or whatever its called), the one that sprays the 6 beams is absolutely awesome. Its a wet system, correct?

How much spray was sprayed through that thing? Man that was cool.

but then we would see how much the fuel is really vaporized. I've always wanted to see how the fuel reacts with the nitrous (the spray pattern) with these new plate kits
