Default Yank Pt4000 with 100 shot?

I just got back to the states and am getting ready to try a 100 shot on my SI car. I run a Yank PT4000 and several people are telling me to try and spray it is useless since the TC is too loose. They say it'll flash it right out of the power band.

Anyone have some real wrold experience with a PT on juice?

I ran 10.9's tuesday shifting at 6500. I am loosing power from the converter slipping up top... At least thats what were thinking. We're going to trying lowering the shift points to 5600 and that will keep the engine loaded and keep the converter tighter..... * crosses fingers

BTW spraying 150 dry

V6 Bird on here sprayed a 175 on his car with a PT4000 and it was a great combo. I did on my car too but I sold it shortly after i started spraying it. No problems though

I used to spray a 150 on my PT4400, it did really well for me. Give it a whirl.

I am running a PT3,800(custom built) and they said not to try it

I going to! what have I got to loose...a $1,000 converter

my vote would be "give it a shot and see"

I guess I should update.

PT3,800 hitts 5,600 on every pass with a 200RWHP shot and ran as fast as 10.0h@136

If you try it I'm certainly interested in the results you get. I talked to Yank about it as I've got the same converter and they were of the opinion that my shift extension would be up a couple of hundred RPM past where my motor stops making power. (6200-6300) Basically it'd just blow right through the converter. However, they said this converter would be fine on my 408 that should make 200+ more horsepower and 200+ more torque than my stock engine. Power is power regardless of what's going on inside the cylinder and what's exactly making the power. Anyhow, Yank said to go back to their PY series converter that I orignially had in the car if I wanted to spray it. Please let me know if you spray the car and the results. Thanks.

I have a built 382 stroker, auto, big cam, etc. and Yank told me to use the PT4000 with my 200 shot....I ran a 100 shot the other day, did fine, didn't blow through the converter....

My car NA shifts at 6800 or so, and shifts fall to about 5300-5400 withouth juice, and about 5600-5800 on juice. So far so good.

Cool, thanks guys, maybe I'll drop the sift points some before I run it. The N2O is in the car, NX wet kit. I need a heater though!mI'm going to try it next weekend.

when i talked to dave at yank he told me that the pt4000 is meant more for motor because on the bottle it would flash to high but the ss4000 is made for nitrous but you can still run a pt4000 on the bottle he said. the other differance is if you where to race the same exact setup cars (identical cars) one with a ss4000 and one with a pt4000 motor to motor the pt4000 would probably win by about a half a car!!!!

I second that!

I ran the SS4000 and switched to the PT4000
sprayed the SS4000 with a wet 150 shot and so far have only tried the PT4000 with a 100 shot.

No troubles!!!

sorry for jumping in and asking a newb question.....how will spraying n20 affect which converter you should run. I am getting a 02 SS a4 (bone stock) this coming weekend and i want to buy a converter as it will be seeing the strip quite a few times. Reason i ask over here is because i want to throw some nitrous at it also and dont know anything about which converter, amount of the shot, or anything so that it will work good together. thanks for any help or insight guys, i appreciate it

We got 2 time runs at Super Chevy this saturday, I sprayed outta the hole and ran an 11.39 @ 117.9 with a great 1.49 60 foot! It really felt nice!
The next pass I ran on motor, did the normal 11.99 @112.8 on a 1.55. The TC and trans felt fine, no slipping or problems.

They had a bonus bracket race saturday, 1BADLS1 wanted to run it, so he paid up and ran the car. His first pass the WOT switch slipped and it ran 11.95 on motor. He bought back in and did a 11.32 @ 118 on a 1.55, but redlighted.

This morning was the brackets, I didn't hit the arm switch and ran 11.79 on motor with a 1.55. I was wishing I would've sprayed...if it had picked up .6 again that might've been 11.teen's....oh well, next time!

We calculated the DA at +1600 for the 11.32 run, about +900 for the 11.39. We pulled the seats out and Sam is a little lighter than me LOL.

I reweighed the car in full race trim and it was 3220 with the 40lbs N2O bottle w/o driver, 3420 with me, so it is light, but not as light as some on here!

It worked great. I just put a set of AFR 205's and a G5X3 with a FAST 90/90 in the car. Need some tuning and now I'm looking for 10's. If that combo doesn't do it I'll be suprised!
