Does Nitrous even Really stress the drivetrain?
Well as anyone knows, the 4th gen fbody drivetrain after the engine is fairly weak when exposed to big hp/tq. Mostly the 10 bolt but also the clutch and other things are factors.
I thought about it and I really don't think nos shocks the drivetrain like other power adders. With a window switch and wot switch, I would think that the nos would turn off completely during a shift so the shift would be just the same as stock. When the shift is completed, the nos adds power quickly but it is gradual rather than sudden shock. Also if you don't spray on the launch, you have a stock launch as well w/o any extra shock.
Just wondering if I am right with this thinking. Can anyone with a system on their car please elaborate a bit?

You have it a little backwards, nitrous shocks the drivetrain harder than any other power adder. If you look at a dyno graph of a nitrous car you will see a 100-300ftlb jump in torque in 200-300 rpm after the kit is activated. Even if you are already rolling that is still hard on parts.

lets say 150shot. ever time that noid opens its 150hp.
Turbo and blowers, power is mostly linked to rpm in one form or another. SO their power increases are not instant. This is also why a turbo car can yeild more power on stock botton end than a (NON-progressive) nitrous system/.
Now the other side of the coin. Since the power is instant this is also why the nitrous car can be quicker. May not be faster but quicker. The fasatest Pro-mod in the world is a nitrous car.

Yet at the same time while it's more explosive/instant power.. I think it has it's longevity benefits over forced air applications being that it's not constant wear and tear on the drivetrain, nitrous is only being used in small instanced when you need it.
