Getting into the 10's is no small feat!
it is a dd trying to keep it stock looking
If you could get good traction and the car was stock (which I don't recommend for bigger than 150hp shot) you would need at least 200hp shot.........more like 250rwhp rated nitrous system!

you will need slicks, good track prep and a **** LOAD OF NITROUS!!! 250hp+.....in other words......I highly doubt it will happen

i am going with a hollow front sway bar,i have a set of simmons wheels they are way lighter then the stock wheels( even with 275's on them and 235's on the stocks)
i havent raced it yet. i will be going to norwalk raceway parkway and from what i hear they prep the track pretty well.
what would let me to run a bigger shot like 250?
also i have a racetronix pump and harness.

dude, I am not trying to be an ***......but I highly doubt even with a 250hp it will run 10.9's......EVEN IF it holds together........
I agree.....it would take more nitrous than that LT1 will handle to knock 3 or so seconds off n/a timeslip to see 10's. Good luck in your quest, dont be mad when you come up short.
ps i can build a motor for real cheap, beacause i can get the machining for free.
i just dont want to build the motor because i i plan i driving this car and cant really aford gas in the long term.
cam/springs would be nice, basic bolt ons elsewhere.
And then a well tuned and set up 200 shot would likely do it along with weight reduction. Maybe a dual stage 100/100 to keep the stock bottom together.
With my fairly light SS and cam only longblock (with LS1 intake and remaining parts stock) I dynoed about 325 rwhp through the auto w 4200 stall and 460 on a 150-160 shot. It ran 10.2 at 130.
So I think a properly though out setup could sneak in the 10s near full weight. Its really more about the tires, stall and supsension. Just make 525 crank HP or so and set up the chassis and you can do it easily.
But you certainly wont be able to just add a ton of juice to your existing nearly stock car with stock stall and stock tires and stock suspension and get even close.
Suspension on that car was great. Motor and drivetrain was NOTHING special.
Local built Th400 with PI 4200 stall
Stock 2000 LS1 with a 228/232 cam
918 springs
rod bolts
Pacesetter headers
Magnoflow cat back ( no cutout even)
CAI
All other parts where stock including the ls1 intake
pulley
water pump
PS
heads
head gaskets
etc
keep in mind that HP through a t56 would have probably been like 360 all motor and 500 on juice roughly
So I think it can be done...but when shooting for an ET power production takes a back seat to properly set up chassis/stall. And that aint cheap either. Making the HP you needs to go high 10s really isnt that hard.

would a 100 or 150 shot at least bag me at least a low 12 run?
this would be on a set of slicks on the back. and on a well tuned car.

plus as the rate vette prices took a dive anyone cant afford to not have one
